  1. It's probably best to take it to panelbeaters or someone that resprays cars to do it for you.
  2. Is it normal for a Fox suspension fork to have a slight layer of oil on the stanchions when compressed and extended? Same with the Fox RP2 rear shock...is this something that needs to be looked at or considered normal?
  3. Please accept my apologies then. How do you adjust the "reach" of the brake lever...with cable you simply adjust the barrel screw, what's the procedure with the hydraulics?
  4. I must admit I am not super impressed by their stopping power, the V-brakes on my XTC are def more deadly than the Juicy 5's, do they take a bit of time to settle?
  5. Sorry Rock that makes no sense, I think Racer X is on the money.
  6. What's the deal with the Avid Juicy 5's brake levers? I just got a set and they have a position which they can clip into when you pull them away from the handlebars...what's that used for? I can only assume its to prevent you from accidentally pulling the lever when you dont have the wheels in. Only the one has it...front brake...the other not?
  7. What mileage should you be getting on a half-decent chain if the bikes only used for MTBing?
  8. I bit the bullet and got the EX8 in the end...wife not impressed wth cash outlay...she'll get over it!!! This bike is without a shadow of a doubt the nicest thing I've ever bought myself....just about to go for the virgin ride in Eden...can't wait!! PS. Have I told you lately I love mountainbiking?
  9. Demo bikes...a 2008 model Trek Fuel EX7 vs a Fuel EX8. OK maybe the shock wasnt the only difference, the 8 also has mostly LX groupo and Bontrager Race wheels, the 7 has Bontrager Select wheels and mostly Deore bits and pieces. The frame and rear shock is the same. You can check the post on Tech "Trek Fuel Ex7 vs 8", there's links to both bikes there and they look great. Price difference R3700.00. I think its worth it but it took a while to convince myself. Any thoughts?
  10. http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/2008/mountain_full_suspension/fuel_ex/fuelex8/ http://www.trekbikes.com/us/en/bikes/2008/mountain_full_suspension/fuel_ex/fuelex7/ I have to make a decision between these two bikes. Please take a look at the specs on the links and let me know whether you think paying 3K more for the EX8 (15k) than the EX7 (12K) (both used but in great condition) is worth the extra cost? I refer especially to the Forks, shifters and wheels... Thanks in advance for the input.
  11. What would the conversion entail and benefits be? Getting a bike (hopefully today!!!) with a Recon 351 on it.
