  1. cable ties will tie anything together
  2. hahahahaha... pis funny...
  3. true, he had a good WC though IIRC. but red ball cricket is PROPER cricket after all, so it counts for nothing
  4. Autocorrect, the worst invention before ???? (choose your own) came along... Warner is having a real mare against Sally. I like Labooshane at 3 for the Aussies. Overton, who da vaaark is that??? For Woakes? Poms really worried about their batting with Buttler at 7. Starc was always going to come in for Pattenson/Siddle. Come on my convict friends, retain them Ashes...
  5. I dont smack it, but i do smaak it stukkend...
  6. @stretch and @mntboy, ja i know, what you are saying about Labooshane is true to a degree, but keep in mind that Labooshane's parents left for Queensland when he was 10, so technically he isnt a born Ozzie. I played club cricket alongside Jonathan Trott and I tell you, that guy was class from the first time I played against him at u/15 trials and seeing him play for England really saddened me. It has to be said Trotty would never push King Kallis out of the side back then and finding a space for him in THAT Protea side was probably going to be difficult. (Just to give some perspective on why I feel the way I do) Andrew Strauss, now theres someone who irritates me. but not as much as KP... anyone seen that series of interviews on SS2 "KP the Genius" or whatever it's called? OMG he is a proper box! To conclude, its not so much the kids that are schooled/born/raised outside of our beloved country and play for their adopted country that irks me, its the vast number of cricketers that we see leaving every year and are lost to our flawed domestic/national structure. But we are not unique, other sporting codes in other countries do experience the same. Cricket IS the beautiful game!
  7. it has to be said the Aussie bowling was average, specially with the second new ball. They tried to bomb the tail out in stead of sticking to the game plan that got them the 10 wickets for 67 runs in the first dig. I find it hard to like Stokes, but he scored the runs and held the innings together superbly. The English pundits certainly know how to do a 180. On Saturday their team was horse sh_t, on Monday morning they are THE sh_t. The other interesting point is how well the Klerksdorp Aussie is doing. He looks like a class act, which irritates me that we have to see another Saffa playing not for us. Ashes Cricket has never been boring and like some of the posts above, I much prefer the red ball version. I wonder what the odds were on a tied match? hahaha...
  8. I am rewatching Airwolf + Hardcastle & McCormick, and this is certainly very true! And then the other day I saw an article about that truck/helicopter - where the dude is driving an 18 wheeler and he pulls a lever and the tractor ejects a helicopter... haha it cracks me up... think it was called Road Warrior Highwayman or something. But yes, at the time it was the BUSINESS. however silly Jaws was, I was scared out of my swimming trunks when going to the beach! Edit: correction
  9. haha, you never lose the SA accent...
  10. does anyone have a link to listen to the cricket on the internet? streaming dstv at work is just causing trouble for me, plus I enjoy radio commentary more - Aggers and Boycs always messing around etc etc...
  11. I agree, I also dont see why OLD WOOD like Corrie van Zyl is left in charge of the process. It should be simple really, get Biff involved, that guy is our most successful captain and he has a magnificent cricket brain. Get the ex players involved dammit. Why on earth we have Gary Kirsten running around all over the globe and not coacing our team or even being the Director of SA cricket, is beyond me. God help us if Aswell gets the job, which he probably will... that guy has some seriously suppressed racial issues imo. Another slap in CSA's face: ABD scoring bucketloads of runs in England at the moment...
  12. hahahaha!
  13. this, you have just became my favorite person on the Hub!
  14. So many interesting things going on in the world of cricket. The disbanding of the franchise system; the poms in a reality check at Lord’s today a week before the Ashes; WPCA appointing Evan Flynt’s understudy as the curator of Newlands; WPCA debating whether or not to reinstate 2day cricket for the premier club league; CSA appointing a “nobody” to look after our u/19 talent etc etc. Some good, some bad, some seriously dodgy decisions being made. Its exhausting haha.
  15. @stefmeister, yes you are indeed correct. He tried to stand up to the BCCI but as we saw was ostricised for his stance. Point proven then. @shebeen, no worries buddy. I know we share the same intense passion. We can disagree in a positive manner. All good!
  16. @Shebeen, I have forgotten about this movie, I recall seeing its trailer a few years back. I will have to torrent it tonight...
  17. yes, im not at all surprised at the content of this movie. and thus my attitude towards the Indian Parkie League, the Indian Cricket team, the BCCI etc etc. and let me tell you, before you say the indian players are innocent bystanders, they are not. if you look at the attitude of Kohli and MS Dhoni, specifically a couple of years ago how they were/are behaving towards the match officials and also their extended unwillingness to allow DRS being used in any of their Bilateral series, i strongly urge you to reconsider. what was that story with Biff's side being paraded during their test series there in 2010 or so? the Guptas were nogal involved as well if im not mistaken. i tell you, nothing surprises me anymore!

  20. Aussie Woodworms not faring much better in their warmup/practice game hahaha, this might be the shortest Ashes series yet?!
  21. Is it really that different from whats happening/happened in SA? Are we next? [emoji85]
  22. King Kallis also asking that the powerplay format revert to its previous iteration of allowing 5 fielders outside the 30yard circle from overs 11-40, in order to make the game more evenly balanced between bat and ball. Now correct me if im wrong but the whole reason for the current pp iteration from overs 11-40 was because the contest between bat and ball WAS EVEN and found to be unattractive/boring. King Kallis, come again???
  23. Anybody know why Zim has been suspended from the ICC?
