  1. Thanks for the feed back. I am quite partial to the Karma Pro. I saw one last winter, and was quite impressed. Its just nice to get someones else opinion. My LBS has two in stock for R1650-00 mmmmm, I might have to pay them a visit before they get sold!
  2. Any one compared these two lights Burn time? Weight? Size?
  3. like i said just installed new xtr cables
  4. Hi Guys Thanks for all the feed back. The bike is a 2007 Giant Anthem. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=40716 The ghost shifting is only in the smallest two gears. It shifts up and down in those small gears ie permanent. If I change up(slightly bigger on the rear) everything is fine. Like I mentioned the cables are brand new XTR. I will check the hanger, and also try some different jockey wheels. What about chain length, should I go slightly shorter?
  5. Jockey wheels are fairly new. I got some of them CNC alu ones
  6. There it is!! http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v406/6/17/591936075/n591936075_1570947_2659.jpg
  7. Hi Got a strange problem maybe you can help. When I am in the last two (smalles gears) at the back and middle or big ring in front, I get a little bit of "ghost shifting" on the last two(smallest gears). This only seems to happen when I am pedaling hard over fairly bumpy terrain. Now before you say, cables chain cassteet ect, this has all been recently replaced (as part of my anual service). I though this issue would be resolved with all the new gear, but it still prevales. I was wondering if perhads my derailer spring (07 XT) is getting a little stretched, hence not holding the gear correctly????? Any ideas???? Maybe B screw adjustment??
  8. I am not happy with my Avid j 7's. However I have never used anything else
  9. I find the XTR's work very well, but iI will consider the full length some time thanks
  10. do you find a big difference with full length outers??
  11. Like I have said on here before, if being bike mechanic paid enough, I would do it full time.
  12. Did it all my self, I do this once a year normally, so I generally buy stuff that I need slowly throughout the year, and look for bargains. I got a lot of the stuff from CRC. I would guess about 1.5k...?(for the parts) and about 4 beers for me!! O ja, and I also bled my brakes!!
  13. feels brand new again. After new chain, chain rings and cassette, new XTR gear cables, serviced shock, replaced dust seals and oil change in fork, new rear wheel bearings, (and free wheel body, they were getting a little rough) new rear tyre, new BB external bearing (re-build) and serviced head set, and checked pivot bearing (had to service the two larger ones) All good to go, ready for SANI2C!! Any thing else I should do??
  14. very easy, I also do it myself
  15. Thanks guys, I spoke to Lionel form Omnico, and he will sort it out for me. He is going to send down the tool to my LBS, so they can re-rivnut the lug in place. Thanks for the help.
  16. Anyone got a number for the Schwinn agents?
  17. Thanks I will talk with them on monday
  18. True, I will look into repairing it. I will ask Schwinn if they can recommend anyone who can do the repair.
  19. Hi Had my Schwinn Fast Back Elite for about three months now. Took my bottle cage off to mount a pump yesterday, and realized that the little lug that has the thread in it that is braze/welded onto the frame is turning inside the frame. (I did not over tighten it it came loose when I was loosing the bottle cage) The thread is ok, but the lug has come loos on the frame. Is this repairable, or should I see if Schwinn would replace the frame??
  20. S/S is only stainless under certain conditions. My favourite is when someone wipes the s/s with and oily rag.Guess what will happen.Rust. Keep carbon steel, oil, chlorines, halogen, sulphur and a multitude ofother products away from it and its fine....for its purpose at least. And hereby do we invite the wrath of JB. Is that really true?
  21. Hi Any issues with replacing some of the bolts o my bike with stainless?? especially bolts that hold caliper onto frame?
  22. thanks mampara, I looked on the site, but didn't see it
