  1. Ghetto tubless all the way, works the same as stans/Joes/Toms/Bobs ext, for a fraction of the price!!!!
  2. Allways a tricky one to sort out. If it were my bike, I would start with a little WD40 on all the picot points to see if that solves the problem, it could just be a tiny bit og grit and grime. I have a 2007 Anthem (RP2 Shock). It really is a great bike, but also seem prone to all sorts of strange sounds.(clicking nocking ect) When my bike starts making noises, I normally give it a lovely wash, re lube, bit of WD40 on all pivots, wipe down the frame with a oily rag, and 9 times out of 10 this solves the issue. Good Luck Keep us posted
  3. Thanks Johan. That answers my question. So bicycle chain are in fact "not standard" from a industrial chain point of view.
  4. Like I said, I was just wondering?? It may also work out a whole lot cheaper
  5. Was in Bearing Man earlier to day to pick up some bearings for my DT Swiss hub, and I was wondering if it would be possible to purchase bicycle chain from them? They supply other industrial chain, so why not bicycle?? Any ideas or thoughts on this??
  6. there are some lovely road rides out of the SW of london!!!
  7. Thanks for the feed back. I am quite partial to the Karma Pro. I saw one last winter, and was quite impressed. Its just nice to get someones else opinion. My LBS has two in stock for R1650-00 mmmmm, I might have to pay them a visit before they get sold!
  8. Any one compared these two lights Burn time? Weight? Size?
  9. like i said just installed new xtr cables
  10. Hi Guys Thanks for all the feed back. The bike is a 2007 Giant Anthem. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=40716 The ghost shifting is only in the smallest two gears. It shifts up and down in those small gears ie permanent. If I change up(slightly bigger on the rear) everything is fine. Like I mentioned the cables are brand new XTR. I will check the hanger, and also try some different jockey wheels. What about chain length, should I go slightly shorter?
  11. Jockey wheels are fairly new. I got some of them CNC alu ones
  12. There it is!! http://photos-d.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v406/6/17/591936075/n591936075_1570947_2659.jpg
  13. Hi Got a strange problem maybe you can help. When I am in the last two (smalles gears) at the back and middle or big ring in front, I get a little bit of "ghost shifting" on the last two(smallest gears). This only seems to happen when I am pedaling hard over fairly bumpy terrain. Now before you say, cables chain cassteet ect, this has all been recently replaced (as part of my anual service). I though this issue would be resolved with all the new gear, but it still prevales. I was wondering if perhads my derailer spring (07 XT) is getting a little stretched, hence not holding the gear correctly????? Any ideas???? Maybe B screw adjustment??
  14. I am not happy with my Avid j 7's. However I have never used anything else
  15. I find the XTR's work very well, but iI will consider the full length some time thanks
  16. do you find a big difference with full length outers??
  17. Like I have said on here before, if being bike mechanic paid enough, I would do it full time.
  18. Did it all my self, I do this once a year normally, so I generally buy stuff that I need slowly throughout the year, and look for bargains. I got a lot of the stuff from CRC. I would guess about 1.5k...?(for the parts) and about 4 beers for me!! O ja, and I also bled my brakes!!
  19. feels brand new again. After new chain, chain rings and cassette, new XTR gear cables, serviced shock, replaced dust seals and oil change in fork, new rear wheel bearings, (and free wheel body, they were getting a little rough) new rear tyre, new BB external bearing (re-build) and serviced head set, and checked pivot bearing (had to service the two larger ones) All good to go, ready for SANI2C!! Any thing else I should do??
  20. very easy, I also do it myself
  21. Thanks guys, I spoke to Lionel form Omnico, and he will sort it out for me. He is going to send down the tool to my LBS, so they can re-rivnut the lug in place. Thanks for the help.
