  1. I agree but so far I have not paid a cent despite missing two goals (not sure how I got away with that). Twice they have changed the system so it wasn't as easy for me. I have kept my fingers crossed they would fix it and so far I'm glad I had my glass half full.
  2. I never received my top this year. I don't get much in way of cash back either so I think this is the last year I'll do the Team vitality option. I'm glad they sorted out the points system it will work much better for my training. I always assumed they would adopt a system which suits a bigger range of people so I'm glad I kept faith in them and signed up for the almost free watch.
  3. Do you have plans for the SUP's?
  4. I used a satin finish on my recent dining table. I was told it was the varnish of choice for pub / bar counter tops so hopefully its durable.
  5. I was so happy when my gym added another two treadmills with a 60 minute limit. Now there are four.
  6. I seem to remember this thread merged with the Apple watch thread, if I am wrong I apologize for the hi jack. My watch stopped recording anything for exercise yesterday. I turned it off and on and still today its reading nothing even after an IDT session. Any apple watch users had the same problem?
  7. I finally finished my Christmas holiday project. Table has been complete for a while but getting the pool table playable has been phase 2.

    Give it a TRI

Flippers are a good idea, I have also seen guys using a snorkel that comes out of your mouth and goes up right between your eyes so it doesn't affect your stroke. I assume these let you concentrate on your stroke only.

    Give it a TRI

I can add that tri shoes are more comfortable to use without socks, which means they not just good for the flying mount but you can also run to and from the mounting points. So for a big transition zone like a 70.3 you save heaps of time if you; a) Don't wear socks. b) Have enough in your legs to run a bit before and after your ride. I have MTB tri shoes. Until recently they were used for road MTB and tri. They are very comfy but a little cold in winter and they don't keep the water out so well. Lately I bought some road tri shoes and they are also very comfy. I actually can't see myself wanting to use my old road shoes again. I think I'm going to get some shoe covers for the winter But that's just me I'm reasonably new to tri's but the bug has bitten hard. There is absolutely nothing wrong with any type of shoe. For me the biggest con for tri shoes is the expense they don't really make entry level models.
  10. I moved my plug sockets and made this box with a false back so I can hide all my charging devices
  11. I have used an acrylic top coat as a primer. But lately I use Rustoleum 2x cans for primer and top coat as I can get a better finish without as much sanding.
  12. TV shelf.
  13. I get plenty of mdf from my work so I have lots of creations around the house here are some arm rest tray type things.

I sweat so much it makes very little difference what I do with the water. I have not worn socks yet, I keep some in my Transition kit but I always leave them behind. So far I have had no blisters or discomfort. I' pretty sure I'll use them if and when I do a full IM.

    Give it a TRI

I bought a pair for last years Durban 70.3. They made me noticeably quicker on my road bike although i could not get a particularly good fit with them. I decided to use them anyway and had a storming bike leg. Unfortunately that was followed by a horrible run due to a ITB strain. The injury resulted in a run 1min/km slower than expected and was caused by the incorrect fit. The bottom line is I wouldn't recommend them unless you are sure the fit is correct.
  16. I really enjoyed the marathon. That was my third ride at sky fall and again I couldn't stop smiling all the way down but the 'inferno' 'sugar bowl' and 'slingshot' earlier on we're definitely worth a mention.
  17. Does anyone want to join a group with Wonduhboy and myself? We need at least one more goal achiever to get our group rewards. PM me.
  18. When I switched I made a conscious effort to keep my driving squeaky clean but still racked up some points for bad driving. I lost interest and stopped paying too much attention, and the money I receive (also around 600 - 700 / month) hardly changed despite a few more penalties. As JoshK pointed out you get far more for having all the relevant tests completed, driving behavior is only part of it. It does help that I hardly ever drive at night especially at weekends.
  19. Thanks I'll have to find out how to upload from virtual trainer to Strava (on a different thread). I'm also not getting a payment confirmation. I'm thinking its because I registered after business hours though.
  20. How do you get your points for an IDT trainer session? I have upgraded my Virtual trainer app so I am hoping I can use my girlfriends tablet instead of my phone and therefore use my ANT + garmin HR strap (instead of the blue tooth one for my phone) and save a workout on my garmin simultaneously, I'm trying it out for the first time tonight.
  21. Sorry my bad. I have read all 47 pages but not perhaps not taken everything in. So am I right in thinking my goal will decrease to a level I can achieve but as a result my rewards will be less than those 'preferred clients'?
  22. I get a points target of 1200. I count three long rides of + 2 hrs per week and at least one run and gym visit and I can't get my smoothie!!!!
  23. Thats a good point. Which brands are supported at the event and do they all have plenty of kit for warranty purposes?. If I can get an entry I need to upgrade my bike and I hadn't considered this aspect.
  24. Thanks for the advice.
