  1. I have a Giant IDT that you can have for R300 I live in the south of joburg. DM me if you are interested.
  2. The seeding events would just make people more comfortable out on the water when they have to swim longer distances
  3. Look it's my first midmar mile and I can't blame the organizers because they pulled off a fantastic event. However I do feel that some sort of seeding event of shorter distances needs to take place before a person can partake in the midmar. I say this because about 100m out on the dam a guy next to me started freaking out in the water. Not being able to assist the guy. I just shouted for the jetskis and they were there in about 30 seconds to help the guy out. Like these situations I had witnessed 3 on my swim.
  4. Hats off to you Jigghead we need more people like you in this world to make a difference. I also took part in this years midmar for the first time and not being a swimmer it was flippen difficult. Kudos to all who took part and sincere condolences to the family who lost a loved one.
  5. This is my second Argus and starting to realize it might be my last. This event, if you live in joburg, is just too expensive. Luckily I don't need to pay for accomodation or car hire but flights alone through Mango were R4350.00 including the bike fee of R275.00 each way. It's such an awesome event. But i would rather spend that type of money on a 3towers mankele stage race and have fun for three days.
  6. Thaba all the way. Wendell keeps those trails in very good condition all year round at a mere R30. The whole family can have really good fun there. Tried Red barn and modders and still keep going back to Thaba or Rietvlei.

  11. What an awesome weekend of mountain biking as mountain biking should be. Well done to Mark and company.
  12. I've been a roadie for the majority of my life. Fact remains that riding on South African roads is very dangerous. No matter where you ride. I now only ride my road bike on major events like the 94.7 or the agus. Every other time I'm on the trails with my mtb. When you are on the road you basically putting your life in other people's hands. Life is too precious to be taken out by a motorist. But kudos to you for taking action. Prevention is better than cure.
  13. Don't go tubeless. Unless you have a tubeless rim. I have never experienced so much frustration as I have since going tubeless. I've made that mistake twice of doing the conversion. In the long run it works out more expensive. Rather stick with tubes. Oh and another thing.., what the guys running tubeless don't tell you is they still carry tubes.
  14. For me the best tyre on the market is the maxxis Crossmark. Low wearing and fantastic grip.
