  1. that review is the old XT in 10 speed Dynasys version. Here is the new XT: Currently Using 2x10 X9 and must say I was happier with my old 3x9 XT. I suspect that the problem I am having has to do with the open cables on my bike. shift lever does not return to original position after shifting, I have to push it back with my finger. This is due to clogging of the cable passing over the BB to the RD. I think sealed cable housing should do the trick to get it functioning properly. New XT looks nicer!
  2. You can get more than R4500. What size and how much do you want for it? I might have a buyer for you. Weight?
  3. where do I sign?
  4. I was also thinking of the PCS 9 because of the price and all the great reviews. What quick release bit are you refering to?
  5. I was leaning towards the Topeak (maybe because of the scale?), but sounds like the Parktool is the one to get. Thanks for all the feedback, any real mechanics out there that can give some input from experience?
  6. Looking at getting a workstand and considering the following options. Anyone with a bikeshop or experience with bike stands, please help me choose. Topeak Workshop Prep stand Elite: Is the optional scale any good/accurate? Tacx T3025 Spider Prof Repair Stand and now also considering this one: Parktool PCS10
  7. It will be ok if you wash the bike with soap and water. a degreaser will obviously get rid of some of the lube too. I hoe my bike after a muddy ride, but a complete wash after every ride is a bit to time consuming for me.
  8. Johan Bornman has to my knowledge not tried Chain-L., but being Johan Bornman, he probably does not have to try it-he knows! :D
  9. There is no doubt that this can happen if to much lube is applied. If done properly it will not happen and the chain will run clean enough for most people (apart from the ultra clean brigade that gives up performance for cleanliness).
  10. Not yet, but 90% of orders are via the website: www.Chain-L.co.za
  11. Please pm me your email address. will send you reviews that was in the Ride and Bicycling magazines this month.
  12. Jip Reinhardt and the guys from Cyclotech in the FS was the first shop orders! @ Bat-ass: Sunlight will not clean it, but a good degreaser will get it of. A good clean now and again with parafine does get rid of all the internal damage causing stuff inside the chain.
  13. Hi all! Please visit www.Chain-L.co.za to place orders or pm me. Started shipping to shops, so if you are a shop owner and want to order, you can email me on infoatChain-L.co.za. Ps. If you are doing the TB-you need this stuff!! I will take a few bottles, so let me know if you want a bottle.
  14. I beg your pardon.

  18. Have you visited mtbr.com yet? Read rider reviews. It is the highest ranked Lube with more than 20 reviews from 102 lubes. Chain-L is also the only lube that has received an award from MTBR for two years in a row. My link Also google Chain-L reviews if you need more persuation.
  19. Hi Guys One of my friends is also quite lazy and uses the backpedal method. It works fine, but it can clog if you apply to much. If you do a good job when aplying it properly, it can last you a month on a MTB and 3-6 months on a road bike (abviously depending on your mileage). I prefer that over lubing every time before I ride. I have also stopped to remove the chain (could not get 10 speed quick links anywhere) and it works almost as well. I start at the Powerlink (SRAM's non removable link) and apply half a drop to each roller. It goes into the chain straight away and almost does not look as if there is any lube on the chain. Leave for 15 minutes and run the chain through an old cloth using the backpedal method. give the chain one more quick wipe after the initial ride and you should be good for 1000km (Grant Usher from Ride did 1350km on one application and the chain was not dry)!
