  1. yes, as I said...what happened to the OP tit?
  2. tit
  3. Have had my edge 705 for 4 years, no problems. Great product. service has been somewhat crappy after one firmware update caused the unit to not talk to my PC, but it seems to have sorted itself out. Also using a FR610 which has also been great sofar. Never owned a Polar, but from what I've heard, more complex to operate and I don't like a gps strapped around my arm or a pod strapped to one pair of shoes that needs to be transfered every time I use different shoes.
  4. I would also like to know, did you pay anything extra on top of the website price?
  5. I would also be upset if a d!ck comes sprinting out of the blue and passing me on the line and then fistpumping in my face and in front of the camera. His girl was screaming like a real spoilt brat, i would have also ignored her if she screamed to me like that.

    DNF at Epic

They seem to be falling further behind every day if you compare to other teams on geared bikes that generally seem to finish in more or less the same position in the field every stage. The longer stages hurts them more than the other guys due to spinning out. What an achievement it will ge if they can finish!! Has it been done before?
  7. what sort of issues?
  8. pics anywhere? 26" or 29" frame (or custom 650 frame)?
  9. thoughts anyone?
  10. Thinking of a s60 in the front and a s80 at the back. Not much heavier than my aksiums (40 grams in the front, have not weighed the rear). I suppose with the forcast wind, this will not be wise? Too deep?
  11. Hope you get well soon. I also fell of my bike recently, due to my own fault (invloving no hands, speed wobble and a Lefty). Face healed up quickly, but neck still a bit stiff and some dizzy spells. I thought I would have been back on the bike already, but now seems like I fractured a small bone in my wrist. If it is the case, I might require plaster for 6-8 weeks... Like you, all the argus training out the window. Also had to miss the Garden Route 300 2 weeks ago because of my stupidity. Bottom line, enjoy every ride and never take your good health for granted!! Will be back on the road and in the mountains soon and stronger than ever!!
  12. think its 3 years crash replacement. pay 1/3 of the new price was the last I heard from my LBS on Wednesday.
  13. no, that would be the 12,3 L/100km below. Anycase, lets focus on the cycling again
  14. avg Speed since the car was started
  15. Please note that these classes are no longer available. Instructor on her way to Australia. Thanks for all the interest.
  16. They are heavier in general, so not an advantage there.
  17. I understand the aero advantage, but what advantage do they offer if you sit in a bunch like most of us following a wheel in front of you for 99% of the day? Wouldn't it make more sense to buy a light standard wheelset for the same price (AC Sprint, Ksyrium SL, R-SYS, etc) that will offer you a real advantage on the climbs? I completely understand the logic to get them for time trails and non drafting events, but not really for road racing in bunches. Same goes for aero frames in my opinion. Test the advantage of the wheels and the frames with someone (or a whole bunch) in front of you in a wind tunnel and I guess is the advantage will drop considerably...
  18. You are correct, checked my records as well and the entry was R2400. I actually enjoy staying in a guesthouse vs a tent for some races. Makes it feel more like holiday vs work in a tent. See you all there!
  19. Remember that the GR does not include accomodation (unless you went for the premium package). Also, the distance and ellevation on my Garmin for the W2W is different to what you have in the comparison. The terrain in Knysna was smoother and I found the W2W tougher this year than last years GR. Also looks like you used R2400 per person for the GR, which is not what I paid, was more this year. Great race, you will enjoy it.
  20. Hope someone can help me find this person: My bike's tube popped while parked in transition before the race started. I did not have a spare tube with me, so I thought that was my race done before it even started. I asked around and after a while a lady brought me a tube! I was still in my wetsuit and started taking the wheel off with 5 minutes to go to the start. She looked at me struggling to get the tube out, and asked: have you changed a tube before...? She then offered to change it for me and I went down to the start to begin the swim. Before we started (while waiting for the long route to complete the first lap), she was next to the lagoon to inform met that everything is sorted and my bike is ready! I didnt get a chance to ask her name or where she can be contacted. So, if someone knows her, please send me her contact details. She was wearing some team kit from one of the teams taking part (might be kelfords, but I think it was another team) and she only did the bike and the run and not the full triathlon. On another note...when will the results be posted? I also got lost on the short run, went over that damn sand dune again (after 5kms) back to the transition area instead of taking the gravel road to the lunch spot. Lost 3 places (and a lot of calories) after rejoining the gravel road. Awesome event, route marking can improve on the bike and the run, but that should be sorted next year. Also offer a cheaper option for people doing the race and lunch only.
  21. Let me know where you can get S-Works for R1500? as far as I am aware they retail for R2500 plus... Agree with Crow, on my 4th season with a pair of MTB shoes. Only used my S-Works road shoes for one ride sofar so can't really comment yet. Very light, very stiff. only downside are the replacement cost of the cable system should it break.
  22. Are you sure about this weight? The bike comes with pedals (and a 30 speed drivetrain), so I'm guessing you included this when you weighed it. What size? I will be seriously impressed if this is the weight of the bike with only sealant and bottle cages required.Price?
  23. 178, 75kg Thanks Gadget!
  24. who would like to sell me their wetsuit after yesterday?
  25. Ah, now i know who you are. Nice pick of you in Die Burger after the rhino. We must chat about the ax stuff, need a carbon handlebar and would like to get n price list from you. I will pm you my mail address. Interested in road wheels as well. Great bike!
