  1. I knew that, I'm listening to them right now. I was replying to The Thug who asked which Division they play in, I'm sure he thought they were a football team.
  2. LOL!!! They play in the Heavenly League, LOL!!! TT, Hillsong United is not a football team.
  3. Nope, I'll just have to listen to them on me MP3 player.
  4. When I started out road cycling it felt good being greeted by fellow cyclist passing by, but lately other cyclist just ignore you these days not sure if they think it's uncool or something, but I still do acknowledge with a nod of the head when I'm unable to remove a hand at that time & that's to all.
  5. In 2006 Argus, I did 3:15 on an old steel Le Jeune, stock standard with no upgrades. And I kinda felt the same seeing guys with all the fancy names not even making a Sub4, but I never got sick about it just had a good laugh.
  6. WTF!! No Polar stand might as well not go, maybe I'll just go and pickup some 9.99 bombs.
  7. Is there anybody from the Craighall area that want to go for a cycle tomorrow?
  8. Even though it's my first, I'll be pushing for a 2:40

    Shaving

So with that theory in mind, if I take take out motor vehicle insurance does it mean I'm now imune to all damages & theft, my word some of you just can't help but take things literally & out of context. As for the comments about "crashing less", we don't ride bikes worth 50K+ so we can crash, what was shared above in previous posts is mere precautions for if we should crash, which is highly unlikely, but when we do, we are prepared.

    Shaving

When shaving legs I do the whole leg, upto & including the pubes, under the arms & my head (top), less hair = less weight=faster race finishes. It just doesn't look/feel right when getting dressed in the change rooms, legs all shaven & man hood area looking worse than a male lions head & here I'm talking about the other gymmers/cyclist. Before closing the subject on Veet, I just wanted to add "Don't EVER use Veet on the manhood area" Veet Subject Now Closed. I think Hygiene should go with cleaning the wound after you've crashed, it would then makes sense. On unshaven legs germs will stick to your hair around the wound & the wound may become infected. Less pain when crashing, why don't you put it to the test right now at your desk, ask the chick behind you to use her tweasers & start pulling hair from your legs & see if that's painfull or not, then imagine crashing on tar at high speed.
  11. I bonked once not knowing what hit me, didn't even know it was called bonk until I read a mag later that week. Then I got this warm feeling knowing that I bonked, so now I've got bragging rights & can say I've been there done that. sh*tty feeling but the experience was great, highly recommend it to every cyclist that hasn't experienced it before.
  12. Having a good laugh right now, that in this day & age some of you are still calling traffic lights, robots,LOL!! Anyway just yeasterday I was a victim too, as the light changed green she decides to indicate & turn by then I was nearing the front of her vehicle already & gesturing to her WTF!!! while she quickly had to swerve out of the way & speeding off to save face. I'm sure she'll remember to indicate well in advance next time.
  13. It's a Roadie culture thing, I'm sure the MTB'ers have their own little traits & rituals they perform before a ride.
  14. Now that I know what is being rubbed on their legs, I did my own research & this what I found wrt "warmup oils" An oil-alcohol solution Very fast absorbing and containing Ozonised oil Designed to enhance blood flow and oxygenation in the treated area Natural ingredients produce a gentle and lasting warming sensation before exercise. Ozonized oil helps convert lactic acid (in part) to sugars that can be used by the muscles A 'turbo' effect. As used by many Pro riders.
  15. sowhat are the various brands on the market & can this be picked up at the local bike shop?
  16. 4 mud/rock slides from Noordhoeks side only, so much that I was still able to drive through it on my road bike without having to get off the bike. It's ridiculous that the road is still closed right now. How much revenue is being lost to tourism, clearly somebody needs to pull their finger.
  17. Anybody know what the Pro's are rubbing on their legs in the mornings before the race starts? I'm thinking it's either something to warm up the muscles or just some lubricant to make their legs look all shiny & glossy?
  18. Just an update that Chapmans Peak is now officially closed at the top for bicycles too. There use to be a gap for cyclist to slip through the fence but that now has been closed off too. Also just want to say thanks to the MTB'er who helped me scale the cliff to get around the fence. So if you're alone you'll have to turn around at the top unless you have a partner who can hand your bike to you then it should be ok, but be prepared for a few cuts from the barbed-wire, luckily I had longs covering my legs & arms.
