Hi all fellow hubbers. I'm not in the market yet for an ebike but I was wondering what the average running cost ebike will be. I'm not worried about electricity but the maintenance aspect. I'm not much worries about the tires or drive train costs. More to do with the motor and battery. Any wisdom would be appreciated. Even a link to similar discussion. I have searched. Happy trails

I'fitted 26" conti racer kings, protection tubeless ready. Excellent rolling resistant. Fair bit of grip. I like a bit of drifting but nor too much. Used for xc and trail riding. We will test it's durability. Tires is not cheap these days. R700 EACH

get morewood to do so. Every weld is a spesific thing. I am a Engineer working with welding. it takes allot of time and money to develop the correct and the strongest weld design for a aplication. First it is the material considiration, weld size, minimum and maximum heat, gas mixture for the weld ect... if heat treated aluminium is welded the material will most probably return to the anealed(softest) condistions. Not such a big problem with un-heat treated alu. aks morewood otherwise you are gambling. it might pay off though.

I had a thermo plastic lobo, it is and was the best bike i ever owned. i snaped it though, but not the carbon. an aluminium lug tore out of the frame. I must say i fell in a couple of rock gardens and not one ding or splinter. Thermo plastic is tough and the carbon is way strong. At the end of the day the technology was to expensive. as more producers stepped into the market it became more econoical. on pink bike they visited santacruz and did the "HIT THE POLE WITH THE FRAME" test and let me tel you, the carbon is much stronger. GO carbon.!!!!!!!!

I like the DW design but the GT pedals like a deamon. The GT has an high pivot point and a hight pivot point has "almost the same" axel path as these mutli pivot bikes.thus good. The bottom bracketactually move foward and does not feel weard. the foward movement lengthenes the distance between the crank and rear axle which helps peadl movement

i agree, IOt needs stickers. Alu gets dull very easely. Aluminium is a very cool material. The dul finish is "rust", and it rusts fast but the rust is an outomatical rust protector. the top layer oxidizes and creates a exelent rust treatment, My suggestion is to have it "rust" like the intense bikes and have it clear lacuered to have a uniform finish.

the e-thirtten can bolt to the frame via the bb or to iscg mounts i think. lbs are toscared to take a drill and a saw to a chainguide. 'n boer maak 'n plan. sometimes better than shimano

jip it should work. this one has an e-thirteen adapter on, goes on the bb shell

craig how is the build doing. did you receive the wheels?

Good question. in my opinion, i cant see that the discolaration(ie small amount of wear) influence the feel that much. it is only a few microns thick in any case. In my humble opinion, it might the oils seals that needs to be replaced. they dont get replaced unless they are shot. Replace oil and dust seals and get a full rebuild of outher seals (o rings) . it will cost less and i have not had any problems with my fox talas.

I 've just finished the service of the boxxer. A bit easier to service than my WC boxxer but i'll order a new set of oil seals and ship it with the fork. The fork is set up for an 80kg person. The internals is still fine. I haven't used the fork much as i got my hand on the wc boxxer soon after i bought my bike.

Come on guys, what is a good price for this boxxer?
