  1. I understand that the shuttle is to get to the first stage. But imo an Enduro rider should be a complete mountain biker, if that means he should start an Enduro with a 15km climb, he should be up for it. If a shuttle can ride there, a mountain bike can do so as well. The point of Enduro is to be able to nail technical downhills whilst being "exhausted" from the climb to the top.
  2. Have you tried turning it off an on again?* * if you know the series IT Crowd you'll understand,
  3. +1 The lack of shuttles also plays a role on equipment selection. You have to be able to ride the bike up, but you have to select your parts to take the beating of blasting down the hill. To be honest, I think they should have certain time limits for the liaison stages as well. No use a rider smokes the special stages and walk the liaisons. In my opinion an Enduro should include aspects from all the disciplines of mountain biking. This icludes tough climbs. I love Enduro, but I love trail/AM riding more. Why? Because part of the allure of Trail/AM riding is the fact that there is no timing involved. Your performance is gauged by how stoked you are at the bottom of the hill instead of comparing your time to others'.
  4. Riding the entire route is part of the adventure, and the reason why I ride my MTB. Every trail ride I do is an Enduro. I ride up massive climbs, and enjoy the spectacular views, and blast down the exhilarating descents. I have been doing this for years, but it has only been called Enduro since it has become a racing discipline.

  6. A few Greg Minnaar quotes on Enduro questions directed at him on his facebook page: The inevitable wheel size query: Im not to bothered about wheel size, it's all about handling of the bike for me Fitness required for Enduro vs DH: No, I feel you need to be in better physical condition to race DH then Enduro After being asked if they have a say on which equipment they use: Yes we definitely do, there is no way you can race at a top level without being comfortable with the product you using Will you focus on Enduro? Focus is still on DH.... Enduro is now one of my hobbies with surfing and Golf Future of DH and Enduro: Enduro will be a feeder for DH, you will see the DH fields growing in the future. I personally don't get the same feeling riding Enduro as I do on DH... The speed will bring them back
  7. Great idea!! Unfortunately the benefit will only last as long as the batteries.

  9. I agree 100%. If you look at national standard XCO courses, many of the obstacles are very difficult, and probably just as difficult as on most Enduros, however in an Enduro you hit them at speed, because it is mostly downhill. The problem in SA is the infatuation with distance and vertical ascent, that exhilarating and technical sections are forgotten. For this reason I am very glad that Enduro is gaining momentum, because gnarly XC is what I love!!
