  1. Contact the race office with your details and a description of your riding abilities. There are people looking for partners.
  2. Note the slight changes on the website especially the start time! 7:00 not 7:30. There will be a whole pile of us staying at Glass Bungalows for the pre-ride - see y'all there.
  3. Phone your post office and check regularly. Sometimes the tracking says it is at Customs and it has already been cleared often with a new local tracking number. Mate of mine waited for over a month only to find it had been at the PO.
  4. Hi all This is a brilliant opportunity for anyone still wanting to ride the MTN Panorama Tour with a partner laid on... The MTN Pro team has made itself available to ride with you - and you don't have to be a racing snake either. There are 8 slots available on a first come, first served basis and you will have the experience of a lifetime. Contact Nicki on 083 388 0536 or mail her on nicki@ryder.co.za You can't miss out on this!
  5. Hey people Have you any idea how much work it is to collate all the footage, edit and do a voice over to broadcast the same evening?? The TV crew are under incredible pressure and to put together a quality 30' is an unbelievable effort. So hats off to the TV crew for getting us such a stunning programme daily.
  6. Hi all We have just completed a mtb ride from Plett to Cape Town over 11 days. What a fantastic trip it was following some parts of the old Cape Epic routes and a lot of the Freedom Trail routes. You can read up on it on the blog - www.plett2capetownoffroad.blogspot.com 959km in all, final stats in climbing etc are still to be put together. Cheers
  7. Don't like racing a lot but my choice would be; Ride 2 Rhodes (second time) Sani2C non-stop Swazi Frontier and one overseas ride oh and my one and only road race - 94.7
  8. Thanks Richard for taking this on. It will be a time consuming and frustrating task but you are always one of the "doers" not "talkers".
  9. I used Kenda small block 8 and also found they handled the wide variety of terrain - loose rock, sharp shale, tree roots, soft sand, hard pack and mud. Tubeless is definitely the way to go - just make sure you choose tires with strong sidewalls. You don't want to slash a tire at the top of Hartebeesvlakte (always a possibility).
  10. Is this near Hartebeespoort Hekpoort Skeerpoort area? (Inlaws live there; next time I fly with my bike). Wheres the start of the trail? Van Gaalens is in Skeerpoort (sp?). Drive past Pecanwood (on your R) until you reach the T-junction. Turn left and a couple of hundred metres on your right is the cheese farm. Its about 6-7km of track in one direction.
  11. I'll go with Shebeen - especially Black Fountain to Tina Mission on Day 5 of Ride 2 Rhodes and the valley from Masakala to Queens Mercy on Day 3 of same. This is all natural paths and spoilt for choice. As for GP - Bridal Trail from van Gaalens cheese farm... santacruz rulz2008-10-01 09:37:06
  12. Freedom Challenge has awesome options and you have to navigate as well which adds a different dimension. Can opt to do shorter or longer days. See www.freedomchallenge.org.za
