  8. Hello boet. Thought I'd get some of your pics on here.
  9. Okay all. Thought I would start a thread and see what great pics we can get from your morning training rides. You should be able to get some crackers from SA. Scenery, people, traffic, mates etc etc. This is a pic from my Blackberry of the sunrise this morning on my training ride in Dubai. Very cool 24 degrees only!! PS, if you can't do this on the move, stop and don't crash please!!!!! I am not responsible.
  10. Nice to have these passionate people in our sport guys. Just don't forget to say Yellow to him before you see the Black of him
  11. Well not the whole of belgium is flat but 90% of races there are flat. Criterium Kings there!!!!
  12. Big H, here it is from another experts mouth. Why do I know cause I live in Dubai and the biggest climb is over the highway. Cycling is about turning the legs around and making sure your heart rate is correct. When you ride flats you pedal the whole time and when you ride in hills you pedal for approx 60% of the time. Simple maths. Also make sure your heart rate is correct and you will get nice and fit. The climb is a mental thing and its just about getting your mind around going uphill again. The legs and heart will get fit on flats. Belgium = Flat - many World Champions South Africa = Hilly - not one World Champion Just keep pedalling and enjoy the tailwinds when they are there.
  13. YYYEEEHHHAAAAA Live in Dubai and ordered a Yeti for myself and one for my mate last week. Just saved ourselves about 1500AED's (Dirhams) R3000..........If I can get the Arabs to transfer the money quick enough.....Ooops better not get too excited hey!!!!
  14. Would add some more red squares into it that would look nice and you'd have less white then
  15. Wazza, to answer your question, it should be fine for both road and MTB. Obviously you will have the odd hectic MTB ride in rain and mud but then the kit must just be washed asap. Just make sure on the shorts the front by the "Boerie Braggers" that its blue too :-) Seen some white fronts and its not flattering unless your name is Dirk Diggler!!!
  16. In my humble opinion and also that of Sean Badenhorst, ex-editor of Bicycling Mag, a Yeti is the best DS you can buy. Contact Morningside Cycles in JHB and they will be able to help you. You should get one for under R35,000 but if you can stretch your budget if you need to it will still be worth it. I've been riding MTB's for 20 years and its by far the best bike I've ever ridden. You will really be happy about the money you've spent at the end of each stage.
  17. Sias, no question about it you must go Dual S.
  18. Hey Chappie, in the meanwhile, try and do some conditioning weight training. This can be very light weights and in fact if you go to a Biokineticists, they will give you a program that may not even require weights. This will definitely help you with conditioning and strenghtening of your ligaments and the muscles that support them. A huge percentage of riders suffer from tendonitis but with the correct weight training this can be avoided big time. Ask me I paid for it. I'm not sure how ill you are but weights may be okay and if so, you won't regret this at all and with 3 months LLLOOONNNGGGG rides you will be fine.
