  1. My lovely wife is offering her services...????
  2. Well it's what I was told, but I have never seen it written.
  3. Sorry to break it to you Wayne, but I have it on good authority (I had quipped about doing the same thing at work) that there is a limit to the number of consequetive nights you may spend on a boat - Auckland council BS.
  4. I remember buying something (a bike frame?) from Rad some years back. Good guy...
  5. Aaaah, awesome! Not sure if I want to impose though - I literally haven't even got a helmet here.
  6. Brilliant, I think...I am a pansy when it comes to wet weather riding. ???? I am 182cm tall on a good day.
  7. Bah! No bike or gear! I won't be riding til Spring I think.
  8. Mmmm, so our first home cooked meal in our new rental... The salmon in this country is ridiculously good.
  9. Wayne, are you not enjoying Auckland? Maybe you need to try out the North Shore first...it feels very different from the other side (disclaimer: we only stayed in Bucklands for a week, but drove around a lot)
  10. And me! We are moving into a rental in Killarney street, Takapuna this weekend. Unfortunately our furniture will only join us in a couple of months...
  11. My Mrs like the good stuff, but won't pay for it, so she is pretty good at finding the cheaper more generic stuff...unless it's sporting gear - then it's top drawer all the way!
  12. Hayley, there are some decent shops (Sylvia Park has lots) and you will recognize some of the brands (Cotton On etc), but pricing is anywhere between 150-300% compared to SA. Meg only starts work in July but we just got word that our container has not even left JHB yet which means most of her work clothes won't get here in time. Maybe she will have to take you shopping. ????
  13. Just finished my first week at my new NZ job - I think I will be just fine. Finding a rental house that suits both my wife and I is another story though... This definitely seems to be on the ugly side of NZ.
  14. We have done it all the other way round. License conversion at AA was quick and painless. I didn't come right at the auction so we rented a car for a week to ease the pressure. Hopefully will still find something this coming week. FB message to follow...
  15. We are in Bucklands Beach until Tuesday, then moving to Takapuna until June. After that - north shore somewhere.
  16. The flight was long! (Via Dubai). Day one - we have our bank accounts sorted and cell phone SIM cards. Tomorrow sees IRD numbers and drivers license conversions. Tomorrow night we are going with our AirBNB host to a Turners $5000 or less auction for a car. As it turns out his son is buying a car this week too (big win for the inside info) I think we will be fine...????
  17. Yeah awesome. As the newest member it would be great to meet whoever is around.
  18. I have just put my bikes on a ship...had to choose between them and my snowboard. ????
  19. We just boooked directly on Emirates. They were cheaper by far than the rest, and only 1h45m layover in Dubai.
  20. We submitted our applications at VFS in Pretoria, and handed over our passports at the same time. This sounds like you need to make a phone call for some clarity.
  21. Eesh. Thats not great. We are only able to collect ours today apparently, after they were granted on Wednesday last week.
  22. So close... 150mm Front / 107mm Rear travel Head Angle 64.5deg Seat Angle 75deg Chainstay 425mm Wheelbase 1215mm BB Height 330mm Top Tube 619mm
  23. Legacy Wagon - I might have a look for one of those, or a Forester. We fly out of JHB on the 17th April, although we are still waiting for our passports to come back to VFS. Visas were granted on wednesday last week already.
  24. Hayley, we don't actually know yet. We are waiting for our visas before we can book flights. I have had to take a calculated risk on this booking, knowing that it is for more than a month. The first week or so (depending on visas) will likely be more expensive and less nice. I just didn't want to be stuck with the leftovers for any length of time. And you? How is the process coming along?
