  1. It seems that Lance haters and Democrats are the same people... Time to let it go people.
  2. A few days in Rotorua between Boxing Day and the 30th...itching to get on my bike! Then AKL until work on the 9th.
  3. Anyone have experience with going tubeless on a wire bead ardent?
  4. I would look around West Harbour and Hobsonville rather.
  5. I had a 2009 66 on my old KHS Lucky 7 - what a fantastic fork! In fact I still kind of miss that whole bike because it felt so good with that fork on it.
  6. Is that a 66 up front (180mm)?
  7. It's about 66.5 degrees. The bike in factory 29er / 120mm fork configuration is at 68.
  8. It will fit in the frame, but my fork won't take it - Revelation 27.5. I did think it would make a great pathway for future upgrades though. ????
  9. My new ride... Kona Process 111, running 27.5s and a 150mm fork.
  10. Thanks for all the replies. It's my home built bike - all steel construction makes it a little more flexy than an Aluminium frame. I was a bit limited in my choice of chainstay material so clearance ended up tight. Spacers won't work because of chainline issues that will be created. A file really seems to be the only real option, other than changing q-factor or possibly going shorter.
  11. Yep, that's my problem right there. I think I am going to have to file off the corner of the crank to get an extra 2mm or so. Hopefully that will be just enough.
  12. I am running an XT 2x10 (M785?) crank set and it leaves only about 3-4mm of clearance to my RHS chainstay, which decreases to nothing under hard torque on steep little climbs. Does anyone out there in Hubland know if there is another crank that will fit the same BB but give more room? I am looking for an extra 10mm in total if possible.
  13. I only have a few on some of my bikes, but I am in NZ nowadays anyway.
  14. Yep. 20 of them. Sold some here and the rest on eBay to foreign buyers.
  15. This was why I never did any more than my sample run of Everday OD2 stems in 2014 (when OD2 was still a current standard). There just isn't enough interest.
  16. I have just finished my second week in my new position (Product Development Engineer) at my company. I am super chuffed! I have also been able to spend three evenings this week riding or rowing - that's the beauty of daylight savings and a 4:00 finish time.
  17. I have been a little off the cycling thing this winter, with my bikes in a container between SA and here, so I am keen to reconnect with my bikes again! Wayne, I'll pm you some deets..
  18. I had a 2006 Reign (the blue one), and ran it with a 36 Talas (100-130-160). It is a great ride at 160mm. I still kind of miss that bike.
  19. There is a massive difference in beer price between supermarkets and bars. You can pick up a great beer for around $2 a beer at a supermarket, but you might pay 5 times that when out. I read somewhere that the average salary in Auckland is $72000pa, which seems quite high, but let's go with that for argument sake. That nets you about $4690 per month which means 469 beers. This compares with maybe 1200 beers in SA at R20 a beer and R24k net per month Just bear in mind that that life is pretty pricey.
  20. So 2 months in and I have just accepted a new position at my company - back into design and a 25% increase! This is the dream I was hoping for.
  21. Higher bottom bracket would also affect handling. I played around with the concept of also adding an angleset which would slacken the HA even further. This has the benefit of bringing the bottom bracket down again, but also getting that longer front end to work better on the steeps.
  22. I work in Albany, and it takes me 15 minutes to get to work. That's better than any time in my whole career.
  23. So how amazing is the lamb in this place! Lamb chops never tasted so good!
  24. I am trying to convince my wife to enter the Olympic lifting event - her totals qualify her. I have also just made some initial enquiries at my local rowing club in Takapuna. They will have a masters squad for the games. I guess it's nice and easy when we live here.
  25. Hayley you just need to invest in some crash pants. Padding in all the right places. (I bought me a new jacket at Torpedo7 this weekend????)
