    Patch, the looking around was us trying to find space, I can promise you that. I didn't even get to give a proper kick as the finish lane was so narrow with the barriers, it totally negated the sprint.

    Hey Morné I saw on FB that Louis was concerned about guys crashing on his course. Please reassure him that the course was perfect and he must not change a thing. My crash was totally my own fault and was because I was pushing way too hard. I should have headed the "Extreme caution" sign advice and taken that section a little easier. I had been jumping that rock garden all weekend, just that lap it all went wrong in the slight left hander after the rock garden. The track had changed quite a bit from practice, as it should, and I should have adjusted my speed accordingly, but I lost my head and was hitting everything at 110%. I really do hope we go there again this year with the series as it is a quality track.

    Good to see how this format of racing is growing and great that we had 20 sub-vets on Saturday. We need more though! I hope with World Cup coming to Cape Town in 2018 it will inspire more guys and girls to try XC. The course on Saturday was INCREDIBLE! I have a new favorite track. I really hope the series goes back to Slanghoek soon! I chucked it down the road big time, but it was totally my own fault. From leading to lying in the bushes in 5 seconds flat. So a DNF for me for round 1. I will be back in three weeks time!

    The crowd is going to be next level. With grandstand at the reigns, I hope they can make this event commercially viable so we can have Stellies on the calendar on a regular basis. Total assumption here, but I am sure we will be charged entry to spectate, which I will be more than happy to pay. Hopefully they can also get a large sponsor on board as well.

    LBS normally always have a sachet laying around that you can use. They will normally give them to you, if they do charge don't pay more than like R30.00. You can also buy a bottle of the float fluid, but it is a bit of a waste as you can probably do 200 services with it.

    Bikemob sells those SKF seals. http://bikemob.co.za/ they are very good, but no cheaper than the fox seals. I put the SKF seals when I serviced my fork in November and they have been great so far, although the true test is when you pull the fork apart again and inspect how much dirt got into the foam seals.

    Project for 2017 is to get this guy going again. It got parked a few years ago when I got sick of engine rebuilds every few races. I will build it up as a track day bike and go a little softer on the motor.

    Thanks Miles, the picture is amazing. My gopro was handed down to me by my great great grandpa, they used it to document their trip down to the Cape on their ox cart.
