  1. That is right GS Sport. This is a rather "flat" and fast race vs your normal 1500m variant of MTB races if the weather plays along. I just did the long route this Sunday and going at max race pace for the full distance will cost some endurance .
  2. Route profiles updated for you all as well as a notice regarding online entry closure time: NOTICE: Online entries will close on Monday: 25/8/2014 Entry on the day will be available but please note the prize difference! R180 for the 72,km & 50km rides R140 for the 13km ride

  6. Primarily farm roads Johny Bravo, I've ridden the routes a couple of times myself both summer and winter times and in the dry its not at all sandy like most would expect from our area bar a 100m patch on the 50km route . Winter the conditions is nice unless you have mother nature giving you little surprise like last year with some major downpour the days just preceding the event. Made for an under estimated tough but lekker race. Last years little recap:

  19. Yesterdays ride was dirt but I think the club does both dirt and road rides. Thou I'm not an official representative/spokesperson of the club so don't quote me on that
  20. Wel daar was bier en ontbyt na vandag se tippy
  21. Yea phone them they are very friendly and helpful. Had my chip mounted incorrectly for my first event but had the Garmin to backup the time and they put up my result in accordance to that result. It's worth a shot to call them to see what they can sort out in the absence of a GPS recorded time perhaps.
  22. Well I see my time is now listed on racetec  Phoned them just now to confirm whether it was the time according to my chip and not the query I lodged and the kind lady confirmed it was the chip time. I asked her about the other race as well and she told me no chip time was recorded and got to the root of the problem that I had my chip mounted incorrectly so it didn't trigger the timing mats. Someone will look into my results that I confirmed with my Garmin's file I sent them and get back to me. All in all I'm now happy having some answers
  23. True will see if I don't get reply by lunch I think calling them would be best as an email also doesn't convey one's frustration as accurately as talking to someone But I think I'll be in a better head-space by then
  24. Exactly, it isn't like it was a winning time but 3:28:48 (give or take 5s for starting the Garmin early) it wasn't to crap either in my books considering I started in the MH group
  25. Yea that is pretty accurate for the last bit where we were against the wind Well I've bought it on the 16th of November 2013 and it haven't once recorded my time, why should I fork up another R 120 if they sold me a faulty chip...and an official reply from them suggesting it would even be appreciated but nada. I think I'm just not in the right head-space regarding this at the moment. What I might just mention is I'm pretty sure I heard the beeps as I rolled over the timing mats today so....
