  1. The runners and soccer players here by me have a simple theory when they go for a jog.......if they can still chat to one another without being too much out of breath......then they are doing fine....regardless of heart rate.......and generally you will see that if you download their data after a session like that....they all perform within their acceptable aerobic threshold.......we have not even touched on V02max.......
  2. I invited you to a beer....simple as that......we waited but waited in vain......
  3. This should be preached to Discovery and the other champs around here.............
  4. Muppet.......LOL.....ons het vir jou gewag Vrydag.....as for MY meeting with Discovery.....wipe the arrogance off your lids and read my comments from earlier where I made it known that I reach these targets with a smile and that I have no intention of fighting the system......unless of course you are still under the impression that you are talking to someone else besides me.......
  5. Anaerobic levels require short sudden bursts of energy......if you say you want to "operate" at that level then here is me hoping that you have the understanding that it's not sustainable for long periods.....unless of course you are genetically gifted like our gurus on here......which puts them ahead of the Schurter's and Froome's of the world........
  6. Never did I say that.........unfit people max out their heart rate much quicker than when they start getting fit.....you might have a heart that operates and beats quite fast even though you are fit.....take a few weeks off and see how quick you hit the ceiling........start training longer hours back to back and then see how much harder it becomes to get your heart rate up at any level.......as I said no problem for me my heart beats fast like yourself.....I am not fit at the moment so I reach these levels without much effort......I run "hot" and others run "cold".....here is here I possibly see where Discovery made a mistake........they did not cater for the two different ends of the scale......
  7. Thor I think we are on the same wavelength here......good to know someone else has a good level of understanding.........
  8. Oh yes the recovery will be quicker........Gerald says "the fitter one is the quicker you recover" .....of course.....the longer you train the longer it takes to recover......as I said.....why do athletes dope ? What training will you be doing if you were to attempt a Berg and Bush or S2C Myles.....out of interest ?
  9. Not sure where I mentioned full taps once a week......but hey that's just me....as for the 30 minutes a day.......that'll get you trough S2C comfortably.........
  10. The hubs biggest troll just can't stay under that bridge......nice try laaitie.......
  11. No bearing on you but this comment.......I achieve this very easy as well......this is where most of my training lies in any case.....I am not riding distances at the moment......too much on my plate...... Did the podium J Contenders not suggest that Discovery can't and should not make it too easy....for yourself and someone like me I can "smash" a few 30 minute session 4 times a week and easily make the 1200 threshold....."easy peasy" as some suggested.....no complaints form me so I have no intention fighting their system at the moment..... I can however understand the complaints from the other people......those who train more sensibly....and those who are much fitter than myself.....some of them or many of them are a little more finely tuned......they can train for 90 minutes and not hit the 70 % threshold......or they can train for 90 minutes and make that 70 % threshold with a little added effort but ultimately it eats in to their recovery time.......these sods get a 100 points for their effort whereas I get 300 for 30 minutes after coughing up a lung to two and tomorrow morning I am ready to go again.... I can understand the complaints.......dealing with athletes all day in my line of work I have a pretty in depth understanding of how individuals operate and how everyone differs......quite simply because of this wide range of differences and variables amongst each individual person.....they should adopt the standard that gets adopted worldwide by all medical boards and heart foundations........the 70 % zone does not fall within that norm..... For guys like you and me hammering a 30 minute session or some of the other podium contenders around here......it is simply no problem....we simply love Discovery and their flawed system......that does not mean we should not practice tolerance to the 100's out there who are unhappy....... In summary really.......30 minutes to get 300 points is making it easy.....not a challenge as our esteemed guru's have suggested.......
  12. You've nailed it......some effort needed......albeit a lot more for some.......
  13. WE didn't expect the current scenario to play itself out either.........it could happen as soon as in the next 3 months......winter time and all........interesting days ahead I say.......
  14. You just don't like the guy......admit it......seems to me something like that can really spiral out of control for Discovery.......92 members today.......could be a hell of a lot more than that by the end of the year.....I will be at his place later for beers......you should pop in.....make s stance in the flesh like a man
  15. Your target most likely being set at 500 or 600 right now.......what about when it gets to 1200......
  16. It would appear that this Facebook page for unhappy Discovery members is gaining momentum.......... https://www.facebook.com/groups/1020527818026154/1022419487836987/?notif_t=group_activity&notif_id=1461845893860176
  17. They really stuffed up there......and still people wax lyrically about their awesomeness.....the mind boggles.....reminds me of the old days when your mom took you to the doctor and he gave you a free sucker so you could love him......
  18. The client is the by-product.....the goal is $$$$$$$$$ for Discovery.......
  19. It's not a case of wanting to.....it's a case of having to......then they might as well tell the fit crowd (and not me included as per your suggestion) that they don't want them on the Vitality program......I am very keen to see how many more complaints und unhappy people there will be when they start setting the weekly goals at around 800 on the current plan....even for the unfit crowd......
  20. From what I gather and as far as I can ruffle up it does not really have much to do with the i-watch or the smoothies but more about how they conduct themselves.......allocate points......and the target zones they have given to be adhered to........but yes the end user loses out all the way.......
  21. I really need to get back on my Mompsen.......I have been hitting target collecting smoothies and perving at the ladies in the pool training for Ironman......comforting to think that those pretty toned hard working athletes will earn a 100 points whilst I obtain the same drinking my free smoothie........
