  1. Myself & my wife had an unfortunate accident this morning on our tandem. On the R44 between Somerset West & Stellenbosch we were side wiped by a bakkie that wanted to pull over to the side of the road to pick up a hitch hiker, but he did not check his left side view mirror..... We took quite a hard tumble, with my wife sustaining a bad cut to the fore head and both of us getting loads of roasties. This is just a HUGE thank you to all the motorists that stopped to help. Even helping us take my wife to hospital, escourting our vehicle through the traffic and also bringing our damaged tandem to the Medi Clinic. The staff and especially the ER doctor were brilliant. Somebody also phoned ER24, who pitch up after we had already been taken to hospital, but they still came looking for us to see if we were ok. Thanks to all who helped, its reassuring to see that some people still actually care. To all the cyclist's out there, please take care, especially when riding in a driver's blind spot....
  2. I wonder if he's using any (Rocket)-Compression garments to help speed up recovery.... (WW quickly ducks for cover) WorcesterWheelers2010-06-14 09:54:01
  3. Also willing to give up my 2011 Epic lottery entry as a reward for helping me find my wife's bike.
  4. Here's my "PROUDLY SOUTH AFRICAN" story.... Last week Thursday my wife got into the SUPPORT BAFANA BAFANA spirit. She baught two sets of those Flags you can fit to your car's mirrors (PLEASE REMEMBER TO FIT THE RED SIDE ON TOP.....) Friday morning she went into a slightly more "dodgy" part of town here in Worcester (only two street down from the main road), so by no means the "Bronx". After no more than 5minutes in a tile shop, she came out to find her SA Flag's stolen off the car in broad day light. Needless to say, our Proudly South African spirit tok a bit of a dent. Then just yesterday I myself got into the spirit of things. Baught myself a Anatomic SA FLag shirt & SA flag armwarmers. This morning I got dressed in my SA Flag stuff, ready to support BAFANA BAFANA today and give my staff off the afternoon. Got to my bus to drive to work, and they had broken the rear window & stolen two bikes out the bus. Spent the next three hours with the police. So my whole Friday has been messed up, my wife's irreplacable bike has been stolen (Was her wedding gift). Need less to say, I currently feel like burning my SA flag clothing Now I've only had a material loss, how do my fellow South Africans feel that might have lost loved ones due to crime & violance?

  7. Here's my 2c worth. If you really want to get things changed and get the PPA to address your issues: Put yourself up for election at the next PPA Exco election. Then you can get actively involved in helping with the solution.... WorcesterWheelers2010-05-09 00:29:38

  12. Probably around R15,000 depending on which frameset you would use on the Dual. 2010 Stumpjumper HT frameset - R20,799 2010 S-Works Epic frameset - R35,100 Yes, price did play a little bit of a roll, but honestly not very much. I'm still a HT fan through & through. Thanks for the compliment, It's not only stunning to look at, its also an AWESOME ride. Ne Onetime?

  16. Wanted t otake the two kids on the two tandems this year, but my daughter was not old enough, so in 2011 we will be doing a family ride with two mixed tandems.....
  17. We've never had any problems with using standard 23-25C tubes on 28c tyres. Neither have any of my customers. Biggest thing to remember on a tandem..... Avoid cateyes at all cost, cause with the weight of two riders on just two wheels, you get snake bites much easier on a tandem. We do stock a 700 x 28C tube, but thats with a Schrader (aka Car valve). If you insist on getting a 700 Presta valve tube for 28C. Try finding a loca lbike shop that sells Cyclocross bikes, as they might have 28C tubes for you.
