  1. Hey Spokes. Groete Franna
  2. https://www.bikehub.co.za/forum_posts.asp?TID=55102&KW=Knysna+warning I did try to warn you.....
  3. I've also been a bit dissapointed by the lack of attack from other GC contenders to try make up time on Astana, but you've got to blame the route. I think its a plot by the race organisers, so more break away attempts can stay away, and with 3 wins already by French riders i'm sure they (the ASO) are very happy. Can't wait for tomorrow, Bastille day, so expect PLENTY French men going off in an attempted break away. With plenty of rolling hills, and add to this that stage 10 has a ban on race radio's, I'm sure the French will be going flat out for a 4th stage victory.
  4. Like the topic says: WOW TREAD MAG!!!!! I contacted Joanne late last week after noticing this topic, to sort out some copies for my shop, and explained to her my current predicament of lying in hospital after a bad crash. Well I can confirm that I've just received my copy, delivered to me by a courier, directly to my hospital bed!! To all involved with TREAD magazine, keep up the great work, at this rate I have no doubt that it wont be very long before this will become a monthly magazine.... Thanks Joanne.

  6. Hi Pedal. I can't believe its already been 4 weeks!! Have had a tough last two days with plenty of pain (started with physio on broken elbow, and got a slight infection in the one wound in my skull, BUT tomorrow I'm getting my "vlooiband" as SPOKES called it, then I'll be able to at least sleep on a std bed with my head ABOVE my feet, and will also be able to sit up little bits at a time, but the doc has already warned me that I'd be getting light headed very quickly. But don't worry, like I told my wife, I'll definately listen to the dr and all the nursing staff, cause I dont want to do anything stupid to prolong my visit here. Cheers WW
  7. Thanks for refreshing my memory. You've got a date, perhaps we can even try organise something to help you with your fund raising efforts.
  8. Make me an offer for the hardly used SL version on my Merida mtb. (I built up a carbon FLX with v-brakes just for the fun of it... YES I'm a weight weenie.). The complete bike is up sale since I wont be able to ride it for a while . But most people would probably want me to take off the v-brakes & have disks fitted....
  9. Hi David. Yes I remember, still tried to join you for a ride but can't recall why I could not join you. Thanks for the prayers and good wishes. Really sorry to hear about your own misfortune. Lying here for the past four weeks has once again shown me to be gratefull for everything, as I've heard and seem people come and go with more pain & suffering them my own. Recovering slowly but surely. Hope you find alternative employment ASAP. God bless.
  10. Hey SPOKES!!!!
  11. 100% true WW. But some stuff here in SA has such shocking aftersales service that you would rather send it back then buy it here and strugle with the suppliers. And alot of stuff is just not available in SA even if the brand is represented here. I just ordered a frame from CRC and at 105GBP (52% discount) I don't care if it breaks in 6 months. Insurance will cover that. You're quite right with the aftersales service from certain distributors. I wont mention names, but suffice to say there are certain brands I wont stock or recommend to customers and others where I'll tell the customer to rather buy brand A instead of brand B, because I know the distributor will back me up with great aftersales servcie, and thereby I'll be able to give the customer the same.
  12. Add tax, postage and no aftersales service......???? (Or more postage if you need to get it sent back to them) I have a LBS, and I'm the 1st to admit that prior to opening a shop, I also ordered plenty stuff on line, but only stuff that are "consumables", i.e. tyres, tubes, chains, chainrings etc. All stuff that I was able to fit myself and not walk into the LBS and ask them to fit it for me. Nothing that might need to be replaced / fixed under warrantee. E.g. Ordered a set of road pedals from the UK, after 2nd ride, a piece of the carbon chipped off. would have cost me more to send back and get a replacement pair than the money I saved had I purchased locally. What also happens, is customers walks in, asks your advice on items, and them buys from somewhere else. Maybe I should start charging by the hour for giving advice.... My take on this; If its something that you are not worried about after sales service / warrantee, shop where ever you get the best price. If its something where you require good after sales backup, support your LBS. My 1/2c worth.
  13. Huge relief without the calipers in my head, but only getting my new neck brace on Monday, soo at the moment too terrified to move.... so I'm keeping VERY still. today had 1st fisio session on my arm, I nearly went through the roof!!, but everybody is happy and impressed with progress.
  14. Wow!! Hot topic for the day! Well at least ALPHA PHARM are getting loads of free advertising. I've not been able to follow all day, but has somebody highlighted the fact that ALPHA PHARM have also sponsored the nationwide ALPHA PHARM series...

  17. I e-mailed them today to sort out getting the 2nd edition delivered to my shop while I'm in hospital. Joanne asked me what hospital, so she can send me a copy directly.
  18. To all my supporters, just a quick update; Past two days have been in a lot of pain in my head where the "cones" of the traction are inserted and clamped to my skull. This afternoon the dr had a look and decided to remove the traction, BUT I need to lie still till they fit me with a collar (probably on Monday) The pressure relief on my skull was instant, so thats great, but now I'm too terrified to move!! Thanks for all the support and all the prayers and good wishes. Cheers vir eers WorcesterWheelers2009-07-08 10:54:36

Hendrik, dra asb my en my gesin se dank oor aan almal by die WORCESTER TAFELRONDE 68.
  23. Hallo BigH. Baie dankie vir die goeie wense. Sal gaan loer. Jy sal nog meer my frustrasie verstaan.....
