  1. Have a look at Maxxis Zenith Hors Category foldable tyres. RRP is R289 (well here at ManiC Cycles in Worcester anyway...) The are pretty light, have extra puncture protection layer, foldable (so easy to put on / get off) and as a bonus they give excellent milage. Great all round racing & training tyre without breaking the bank.
  2. My favourite long distance mtb saddle is the WTB Silverine. I have it on my mtb tandem, and even after a 5h30 hour slog at the Klein Karoo klassiek, my rear end was still fine. Other popular option is the SLR as posted earlier and many Epic riders swear by their Fizik Gobi. (P.S. I happen to have WTB Silverado in stock.) only R799.
  3. Thanks Pedal. I'll be at the TOUR DE WORCESTER on Sunday, but only in a suppertive roll. come pop in at our shop stall or for a chat by the finish line. Cheers
  4. Thanks BMC Fan. Got a bit of bad news yesterday. A friend that is an occupational therapist recons the arm will never be 100% again. But, to date I've surprised many people with my rate of recovery, so I'll show them yet.....
  5. Hi Everybody. Untill now it has not really dawned upon me what a wonderfull gesture I received from this online forum. The money donated to me has been released from the 30day investment account and been paid into my account. Now I can settle quite a number of the dr's etc etc accounts that are still outstanding. Once again thank you VERY MUCH for helping a fellow hubber in need. And for all of you who looked after me in their prayers, an even bigger thank you. The road to recovery is still a tough battle, but I'm happy to say that we are making weekly progress. God bless all of you. Regard Francois - aka WORCESTER WHEELERS (also known currently as Evil Knievil.... )
  6. Come visit me in Worcester.... Marshall my one mechanic is definately the best bike valet around
  7. Neck out of the brace, but still very stiff. Arm can ALMOST touch my fingertips and (Under torture by physio) can straighten to 12degrees from straight. Everybody is happy & impressed with progress. Rest of the body is in one word.... ROUND I'm getting rounder & rounder, but hopefully with training program from biokenetist starting next week, will start coming down.... I'm pretty confident that I'll be riding DC for the MANIC / MANIA MIXED TANDEM TEAM.....
  8. Ja, I've already send Father X-mas a very long letter, explaining to him that I need one of those, since I should probably stay away from my myb and also bunch riding for a while..... So time to switch to TT's and triathlon type events....
  9. Get her the exact same bike.. obviously just in the size that fits her.
  10. I've sold two Warp's recently. A Warp5 to a very tall guy, that rides with custom built long cranks, and he has been very impressed with the ride. Also sold a Warp9, to a rider that loves to smash HUGE gears, and he has also only had good things to say. Contact me anytime if you want their contact details to get an unbias oppinion directly from them. Bottom line, nice frame, with good specs. Buy it.... OR, you can save up for one of THESE beauties...... Got one on back order already... and if I had the cash my name would be on the top of the waiting list.....
  11. Naand Oom Hendrik.

  15. I've got a great series of DVD's that can help. CTS Progressive Power training. (5 DVD set) 8 Week program, 2 indoor sessions per week, progresively increasing your power output. 8 weeks from now you should be ready for spring...... PM me if interested.
  16. I absolutely love my grip shift, its almost like having Campagnolo on your mtb, you can shift more than one gear at a time. Every single customer that i've sold a set to in the past few months have all been very happy with the upgrade / change.
  17. I did DC on tandem in 2006, the last time we finished in Montagu. We absolutely FLEW the 1st 50km of flat road, but we nearly DIED climbing up OpteTradouw!! I think 6 tandems working together in a paceline would be quite an nice ride for the DC. Thanks for the offer, so we've already for one entry fee paid. Amoryns, are you still keen to join this tandem team effort?
  18. Posting on berhalf of Greville Ruddock. Many of you will know his from timing events. GREATTIME. ReceivedMorning All,<?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" /> The damn SAVAGE, DIRTY BASTARDS!!! [?cos that?s what they are], broke into our garden shed last night and stole 3 bikes, and several other items. The shed was locked and bolted, but they removed several planks, and then forced the door. Please pass this on to other bike shops, and anyone else with eyes out there. Please be on the lookout for the following bikes and items: Giant Anthem X1 ? 2009 ? Grey/Black ? Large [has short rear mudguard] <?: prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Merida Matts 60 ? 2006 ? Blue ? Small Scott Aero Elite Road Bike ? Blue ? Large Rav-X footpump with top guage ? grey Flymo Brushcutter ? electric ? Orange We would be really grateful if you can keep a lookout on the streets, and in any bike shops, Cash Crusader-type outlets, etc. Yes, unlikely they?ll be found, but just for that small chance. Thanks very much, Grevile Ruddock You can contact him directly at: grevile@iafrica.com 082-7813551
  19. Free bump. Anybody keen to join me in my efforts to put together a tandem only DC team to help raise funds for our Tjommie in need? I doubt if I'll be able to ride, but would like to try and help a fellow cyclist, especially since he is also a "Double up" rider as MDK555 likes to call a tandem..
  20. Me and my wife often ride tandem in Worcester wheeler kit, even though I've never personally met any of the Tjommies riders, they are always a friendly and cheerfull lot on the tandems or any other bike. I'm very sorry to hear about your friends misfortune, and I will definately like to help. I'm also currently recovering from a very bad crash, and even though I'm fortunate enough to have a hospital plan, the bills are still piling up every week! At this stage I wont be able to make much of a contribution, BUT I do have a plan for a fund raising project. I've been trying in vain for the past two years to put together a tandem only DC (Double Century) team. This year I was well on my way to finally realising this goal, untill my crash put an immediatte stop to those plans. I've already had a few enquiries and two or three interested tandems. So how about putting a tandem DC team together and we get them to raise funds for our "TJOMMIE". Anybody interested to either join the team, or who would like to sponsor / donate to this project can contact me via PM. Anybody with any good ideas how we can use the tandemsa website www.tandemcyclingsa.co.za feel free to contact me. Regards and good luck to Nasser Francois
