  1. Hi, I am looking for a reliable lift for my new Jack Russel puppy form Bloem to Stbsch/Cape Town. I know it is a VERY request, but I am a bit desperate to get the little one here!!! Cheers Burger
  2. My Merida currently has a 42-32-24 SLX configuration in front and a 36-11 XT at the back, and as I have to now replace the cassette, chain and big blade, I am thinking about either getting a slightly bigger blade up front (ie. 44-32-24). I however do not seem to find such a setup on a 10 speed - only 9 speed Shimano's have a 44t blade. Is it at all possible to achieve this setup with Shimano/similar fitting parts?
  3. Definitely - the bike don't define the box.......or you cannot judge a box by it's bike............or something like that.
  4. If the guy swore at/threatened the lady, he deserved a snotklap - end of story. Taking into account practical experience, very few riders will, after being bumped by an oncoming rider, politely state: "Excuse me madam, your path of travel inadvertently crossed with mine, and your handlebar bruised my rib cartilage to such an extent that it might discolor during the course of this training event, and I am unhappy about it". Bottomline - if he said anything, he probably deserved the snotklap.
  5. Did the whole race on Hammer perpetuem with no problems at all - just a bit gatvol for the cuppacino taste at the end, and might take more flavours next time. The roosterkoeke was a bonus. I rode the Transkaroo "Up" race last year, and must say MAC is no patch on Ouberg Pass as far as the uphill goes. But the TB are definitedly the more enjoyable one of the races. Well done to all hubber finishers - and to those who bailed - go kick it's ass next year!!
  6. The way it's raining in St'bosch at the moment there will be no rain left for the rest of the country - so at least we'll stay dry. Only thing I'm really nervous about is Ronnie's SS on route to Willowmore!!
  7. WTF is a "paceline" ?? Sorry I've got dirt addiction...............
  8. Did the Transkaroo 240 on Hammer Perpeteum and will be doing the Transbaviaans this weekend on the same stuff. Eating the stuff at the checkpoints is then a bonus, and the Hammer products are 100% natural, so it don't stuff up your stomach. You prepare your bottles per hour I advance - just add water and your good to go. The coffee flavor is my preferred choice and should come in handy for the night riding at TB.
