  1. Go to LBS with rims. Ask what can be done, with pretty pictures and physical items placed in front of you. Conversion was on tubeless ready Stans with Maxxis and tubeless ready "Tape" (apparently) Stans sealant has worked for me Cough up some bucks, say thank you and go home. PS take a spare tube with you anyway cos a side wall tear F's you big time when you 20 km from help.

Saw this on Racetec this morning. Guess someone was editing the data base directly. Check average speed of "winner" file:///C:\Users\DEREK~1.MET\AppData\Local\Temp\msohtmlclip1\01\clip_image002.jpg
  3. 94 kgs Pyga came standard with them I'm not the best technical rider, walked down that silly rocky descent at VG's (dont like going over handle bars again) Otherwise reasonably fast and enjoy rough sections. Run 2.5 bar on tyres for anywhere there are rocks, otherwise the rims will hit the rocks I take the punishment on handling and traction with a higher pressure No problems on trueing or other problems Guess the question is "How aggressive are you for your weight?"
  4. I was emailed with my time, and also received an SMS with same info. I entered on line before cutoff. Not sure what your situation was.
  5. 1st time as well. No idea what to expect. Been told its easier than 94.7, but not sure i believe them though. First ascent looks long.
  6. OK, OK, i finally get it. The real reason why no one drafst in triathlons. Far more believable reason than than that "Its illegal,...... and you are racing yourself" crud.
  7. Love my Pyga. Wish i could afford another R20 k to put on XO. The XL frame is a bit an the heavy side.
  8. Had my seat post dropper on my Pyga too. NEEDED it a lot. Happy to take the weight penalty
  9. Took 3 weeks off training while overseas and felt it a lot. Rocks were a killer and not strong enough to move my bike through them, saw some nasty over handle bars accidents on the descent from the radio telescope area. Jo Bliksem was tougher than i remember from last year. Thanks to he guy who guv me some water at 68 km and the started cramping badly with 700 m to go. I am sure he finished ok. Hakahana may be more accent, but less rocks which makes it easier to my mind.
  10. Was with you Grondpad, on that tour through the township, Bit annoying that we all missed the markers which were not great, wonder how the other batches and riders saw what we missed. Lessons learnt i guess.
