  1. Of course, if you need to offload some sample frames to get exposure, I always wanted a carbon Fuji road bike... You know.. With those stunning oval deep sections? Gimme a call of you need someone on them for advertising;)
  2. Yeah unfortunately it's a problem that can only really be seen once the wheel is on the bike... Not blaming them too much! Haha thanks guys
  3. Ok so just dropped it off... They agreed it was wrong.. So they said they'll have to re dish the wheel. I'll fetch tomorrow and let you know. It may have been my fault slightly, as I did ask the shop to do the work in about a quarter of the normal time they give for collections. So maybe a rushed job? Sucks but at least no arguments with re doing the work!
  4. In understand how peeved you can get about things... So annoying to hop on the hub, see a sweet bargain, and a minute after it was placed, someone's called dibs. Dude, that's life man... As for buying and re selling... Well, that happens. It's what happens on an open forum. Some are here to help, some are here for help, and some are here for profit. If you don't like it, don't trade here... Unfortunate fact but that is life I know the feeling
  5. Haha just read most of that... Didn't pick too much up regarding the problem. Kinda annoyed now as on closer inspection, which, granted, I should have done before leaving, I noticed that some of the spokes (which are bladed) are now twisted sideways... That can't be good... I'll take bit back tomorrow and hopefully we won't have any issues... Definitely skew. I have it in a separate fork and definitely off centre... Thanks guys
  6. What do you mean, "like a back wheel"? Sorry very new to all of this...
  7. You'll have a cooler name on the down tube.
  8. Ok so here's a real challenging circumstance... My shimano Rs20 front wheel had a broken spoke a few weeks back. Wheel went in, replaced spoke, got trued. All ok. Until tonight. While fitting, I notice that the rim is off centre. Ie, when fitting, the rim is heavily biased towards on side of the fork at the top, between the brake pads. Now it does correct itself if I put the wheel in and straighten then tighten the QR, but as soon as weight is on, the fork ends level the hub and the rim pushes against the brake block. At first I thought it was maybe the fork being skew or something, but when I out a different wheel in, it's perfect. So how does one correct this? Wheel rebuild? Did the first lbs not true it correctly? Any help? Thanks!
  9. Gees big up to Jason! Read the reply, sent a message, and literally 20 seconds later got a call from Jason who gave me some advice on the fix. Said to short the two copper contacts out when replacing battery. Then new battery in, and should be fine. Seriously seriously impresses with his service... Wow guys. Just wow.
  10. Ok so I have a bryton rider 35. Been really happy with it, works wonderfully! For the past couple of rides, and during indoor sessions, the moment I put the heart rate monitor strap on, it reads something insane like 220! It doesn't really correct itself either, only dropping to the correct figures after a few minutes... I do wet the strap as instructed, and it's placed right over my heart. What going on? Why the false readings? Thanks!
  11. Dude 105 is fine. Anything except sora will be manageable. Eve sora works but the models you'll look at will have double tap shifters from tiagra upwards. The wheels will make more of a difference than you think... Just what till you upgrade and feel some proper wheels! But a definite recommendation will be to fork out for some gatorskins... No punctures man! Just get the bike serviced and wheels true. You'll be fine. Also, try your lbs. See if they have any stock they want to clear at cost from a couple years ago. I got my scott like that, brand new bike but 1o years old for 4k... That was 3 months ago:)
  12. For that price range you're looking at an alu frame with entry level wheels, and probably old tiagra or old 105 groupset. You'll find some stuff in the classifieds, but set aside some cash for a major service and be prepared to replace one or two parts. At this price range you're getting the very basics. Good luck man
  13. Ha! I like how the mtb guys get upset when someone generalises about them... Now you know how the well behaved roadies feel. But I digress. That sounds like despicable cycling. Gut definitely deserves a stiff klap. And then some. Lucky the wheels turns and he'll get his own back... Real soon. Hope the girls ok:) good luck
  14. Plus in all honesty, you may have overpaid to begin with. Tcr with Di2 Ultegra goes for 25.... Your silver back doesn't have the same perceived "value" as their competing big name makes. That makes its second hand value a lot lower than its comparative bikes.
  15. Something is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it. How many times have we seen a bike posted in the classified for what it's worth, but 4 weeks later they've price dropped it 18 times and still can't sell... *cervelo comes to mind here*
  16. Yes!!! CWC in joburg! About damn time!
  17. Well start using bikes all the time when you start giving us proper cycle lanes on our route to work. That means every damn road. Don't they get it? We WANT to cycle to work! We just can't afford to die so young!
  18. While you're doing windbreakers, can't you also look at shorts and normal short sleeve jerseys in hi vis green or yellow? I would love some kit like that, even I bright sunshine you need to be as bright as possible!
  19. BREAKING NEWS FROM KINGSLEY!-Mountain Bike team Missing… As arranged, we wait with the Landies up on top of the Lubombo's at Madzivikane...Nothing. No cell phone or radio calls from Mike Nixon who heads up the Mountain Bike team. No normal hand-scribbled note with a runner. The hours go by. We send a Landy down to Mlawuia gate... Nothing... I have scary visions of one of them being taken by a croc as, deep down in the gorge, with their bikes above their heads they are forced to wade across the croc-infested Mbuluzi... We had been warned. We will give it 3 hours and if we've still heard nothing, we'll drive up to Shewula where they left from and launch a search party. Will keep u posted.
  20. I don't understand why you didn't just make your feelings known there and then! It's the only way he'll learn not to ride like a douche. Maybe he simply doesn't know? If someone is riding like a tool, tell them. That way, if they don't know, they learn, and if they do know, they'll realise they can't get away with it. Seems we're all too afraid of upsetting someone... We would rather crash and suffer than upset someone you don't know...
  21. Ok so the above stuff didn't work. There is no sealant and the valve thingies aren't bend in any way. Definitely screwed out all the way. Gonna just take them to the lbs and tell them to sort it out as it's clearly a faulty product and I'm not risking the carbon wheel damage!
  22. Yes it does let air in.. Really strange! How would I deflate tube without damaging it?
  23. Haha more like I'm frustrated and won't be able to sleep properly! Hahaah
  24. Ok so it may be that I'm being an idiot, but I out 80mm vredenstein tubes on my clinchers. Wanted to take the tyre off literally 2 minutes later, and boom. Valve won't deflate the tube. Front deflates, but only to a point. Still not possible to remove tire. Anything guys? Or should I just take it back to the lbs and ask them to replace? Thanks in advance!
  25. Yeah toadbury is where I park. Behind the guarded gates. And very welcoming!
