  1. We can take turns holding onto seat posts. Not looking forward to the first climb.
  2. Acc to results you did a 3-dead last year Brandon?
  3. 4
  4. All comes down to form - How much riding you've been doing and how little will go wrong during your race. Can't really predict an outcome, only try your best to make it a good one.
  5. These events are won on the climbs. Last year was ridiculously hot. Should be cooler on Saturday. Hammer the climbs.
  6. No idea. It's going to be a climb fest so I'm going to hit those climbs hard. Probably around 3:15.
  7. Just got an sms with seeding. B - first group of the 60km route
  8. Was wet. No real mud. Sharp terrain. Good race despite poor signage and lack of marshals.
  9. Weather keeps changing. looks better now. Will make a call on Friday evening.
  10. Rain looks very heavy for tomorrow with showers on the morning of the race. My bail on this one...
  11. Every weather report gives a different account on what Saturday will be like. Some good; some bad. Still not sure whether I'm going to go or not.
  12. No rain for Saturday. Might do this after all. Organisers have assured the surface will hold up well to the rain on the Friday.
  13. I guess I might have to use some Spray-n-cook on the frame for this one.
  14. Heavy-ish rain predicted for Friday next week - hope the trails hold up
  15. If it's wet your components will be eaten up and spat out. Weather next week looks good and dry so it's safe to say both routes - the 50 and 75km - will be in great condition. I'm doing the 50km
  16. Yip, would love to get this section back. Some of the best and most scenic ST around. I'm sure Patrick or some of the newly appointed committee members will try their utmost to negotiate with the landowner and get it back into the Tygerberg trail portfolio.
  17. Hahaha, that was me you followed Leona. Also have no clue how I missed the arrow but, like you said, was only 3m.... Thanks for letting me know I was going in the wrong direction
  18. Took this photo of Nino Schurter and Phil Buys at Meerendal at the Cape Epic Prologue with my iPhone. Pretty happy with the result and composition. It also won me a signed and worn Nino Schurter rainbow UCI jersey
  19. Does anyone know where we can find the photos for this event. There were a few photographers with flashes set-up over the route
  20. Sounds like the DH areas are quite rutted and rocky. Hopefully be there - all dependent on the health
  21. Think I'll give this one a go. Looks fast...
  22. Anyone braving the crappy weather and heading out to Grabouw tomorrow? Really hope this weather lifts - not keen on wrecking pads, chain suck and all the other woes that comes standard with a wet and muddy race. Similar conditions to Wolseley last year and that was a shocker. Thoughts?
  23. Doing the 63km on a new MTB bike - hope the wind doesn't pump.
  24. If you're the original owner of the bike, the frames carry a lifetime warranty. The frame alone should be able to fetch R3000 2nd hand.
  25. The route is public - the route maps are in the Epic Route guides for fans etc. Stupid rule - you pay so much to ride and then can't track your adventure. Why not upload to whatever site you use and set the ride to private...
