  1. Sorry, Russ, nope. Some lady reversed her car into my Thule rack TWICE last night. Damaged the addition to the 3 bike rear rack (which made it a fab 4 bike rack). So... has anyone had their bike racks serviced by Thule?
  2. So should we add bricks to our bags to raise us off the ground??
  3. It's in January? Had my head around March or something... oooph,, better get in that darn pool...
  4. Is this another Garmin Express problem? Google Garmin Express, look for problems, and it should solve yours. I had problems with my 910XT. Bit of a bore to trudge through, but all sorted now, and nice as it automatically updates to Training Peaks.
  5. So where is the most suitable spot to book for night before and after? What is the norm?
  6. Phew.. just checked. All in order for very standard tented accom, which suits me perfectly!
  7. Surely entry comes with standard tent??? Have only done other stage races that have included usual tents... is W2W different?? Panic mode.....
  8. Haven't even looked for accom yet... eek, or flights.. thanks for the wake up call!
  9. Does it get you a meal, masseuse and bike wash?
  10. This was a Redhill Fundraiser, hence the entry fee.
  11. Philip put on a good show for the start. At least we got some TV coverage! Well done for taking part. Things are never always as they seem.
  12. I also felt like a tjop when I asked questions originally. But got some really great advice. I find it very frustrating to hunt for a thread when you have found something interesting and cannot remember were you saw it.... cos there was something just as interesting on another thread at the same time... and then again.....the other thread... hoo boy
  13. Cannot get on either... grr, but I can register for the race.
  14. Cradle MTB can be made into a 100km route, if you have the time. We could ride Avianto first, then add the Cradle route. Very tiring though, as Avianto has some challenging sections. Heart rate busters. Just let me know what you want to do.
  15. And... suggestion is to ride MTB for Freedom Ride, as road is full of debris. So Cradle on MTB is very workable.
  16. Freedom ride starts at Mandela bridge, I think, in Newtown. It's only 35k. but if we add Cradle that can push it up. Gotta work out the route though. I am keen, if you are. PM me
  17. The masseuse is not really my worry here. Rather the sleep deprivation. The idea is that a volunteer drives the campervan, so that we, the royal athletes, sleep well overnight, and he/she, the volunteer enjoys the vibe. I am obviously not a Munga candidate!!
  18. Always taken mechanic packages at other events... wouldn't consider doing otherwise. Nutrition is usually awesome at these events... reading the fab Tread mag edition ... a fair amount of peeps chose to NOT spend ALL 8 nights in the race village, for various reasons. My angle is more towards; get a masseuse to be your RAH! RAH! support, and drive the campervan... am I being a sissie? No holds barred here.
  19. Funny... that's what I said... but partner argues that the tents are 1 man... not the luxury 4 man shared by 2 Sani2c version... and it gets very wet?
  20. So, entry paid, training commenced, but now for the nitty gritty. Apparently it is well worth the extra moola to hire a campervan and have a masseuse drive the camper from village to village? Any suggestions? Or volunteers?
  21. Sounds like a good idea. Son racing at SA Champs XCO this weekend, but I think that is on Sat. Where are you thinking of riding?
