  1. Shame Wil, there is no bigger dog lover than you - your heart must be very heavy today, I really feel for you. You have changed her life & made her into a very lovable dog for somebody.
  2. Woke up to find this going on at the foot of the bed this morning....Somebody mustve been tired after her long walk last night!
  3. And rainbows
  4. Heartbroken for you Wyatt, but wow - what an amazing & happy home she had for 15 years to make up for her tough start. I was thinking yesterday that I hope heaven exists - for no other reason that we would get to see all our four legged family members again. Hugs to the family - especially the four pawed ones.
  5. You have a problem!!!! OMG Shame I was thinking of Mi walkie the other day & hoping he is Ok where ever he is now
  6. So her response was "yes, yes, yes!!! I Love Boxers" Let me know if you'd like me to do a home check for you? I think she would be on her way to fetch him now if she knew where to find you She didnt ask how much, she just said yes immediately. Maybe we can ask her to donate some bucks to our local animal rescue lady in exchange for this beautiful boy?
  7. Mr P, I may have somebody for your boy. The group of ladies in my hood that were responsible for me trying to rescue the labby caught in our hood & then sent to SPCA & where i saw Miss Molly & ended up falling in love (long story)....anyway, one of the ladies asked me if there were any other "Mollys" at the SPCA - Molly is half boxer & this lady was looking for a dog that would be able to offer a bit of protection to her. We sent her various rescue options but due to the nature of rescues, they have generally had a traumatic past & she decided against getting one as she is scared her small child may pull its tail or hurt it by mistake & it may lash out as a result of past traumas. May I forward her a photo of your little chap? I dont know her personally but Im willing to do a home check before we agree & the group is a small one made up of animal lovers - and all started because of a rescue dog, so I think she would be a good home?
  8. LOL - thanks Ian, you're the best. I just mailed you while you must have been typing this! I like the idea of taking her into a different room to meet the cats - we havent tried that. Instead we brought the cat into the room that she was most comfortable in. You'd think if you look at the cats that they wouldnt be scared of too many things & I guess they could probably outweigh Molly if they fight her together!
  9. Spam warning!!! Some images of Miss Molly's first weeked at home... For somebody who didnt know what a dog bed was when she arrived on Friday night, she learnt about them pretty damn quick! Also managed to catch the first of many games with the hounds in the garden - smallest one at the front with the ball & Molly tearing along behind. And the first walk - she was amazing, we had a choker chain on her in case we needed it, as well as a soft harness - the choker wasnt used at all & the harness was left dangling most of the time as she stayed to heal after the first few minutes. This girl has stolen our hearts completely - from the moment we sit up in bed, the tail starts beating & doesnt stop till the light goes out at night. She looks at us like we are her heros & even gave her first bark at a passer by last night. Now I just need to chat to Ian about the kitties
  10. LMAO - yes, I'll let him know you like his tan & also the snazzy blue overalls.
  11. Lol Tumbly One, we tried Kindle a few times, but Kindle has some sort of dignity to it - this girl is a goof trooper of note!! There is no dignity or elegance here...she is hilarious. The tail wags & sends everything flying & smacks the hounds in the face. She falls over in the car. She is just so goofy!!! She needed a goofy name I took her to work with me & when I shower her to my boss he also fell in love with her & sent me home. Then later I got an SMS from him saying "please send me a photo of Molly" hahaha...we all laughed so much at the silly name that it stuck. She is a honey bunny - the others love her & because she is only 18months & has legs like a giraffe she can outrun & outplay them. They have been tearing around the house & garden since we got home yesterday! She isn't really sure what a ball or rope is, but she loves running up & down When we gave them all dinner last night the true scars of her neglect came out...we had to restrain her before we could put the food down, she just went crazy, like she hadn't ever seen food before. She then inhaled her bowl of food so quickly that we could give her another one still all before the hounds had finished their bowl. She is starving hungry The weird thing is that when I saw her at the SPCA she definitely had food in her bowl that she wasn't eating...I think maybe she is an emotional eater, if that even exists in dogs? Ian J may need to give us some cat integration tips...we tried a little introduction last night, but it resulted in Molly getting two mouthfuls of Maine Coon fur, so we quickly put a stop to it. Not sure how to go about it the correct way as she is very boisterous! What a special soul she is though - happy right down to the tip of her waggy tail & she gives lovely big kisses!
  12. Saying bye bye to the SPCA!!!
  13. Noooo guys. STOP NOW!!! This is turning into Friday Cryday. I need to go see my girl - prepare for dog spam later!
  14. That is unbelievable - gosh she looks so sweet & happy. I love the way he is holding her against him.
  15. Why do you know somebody who may want her?
  16. We have to take the rest of the gang through to meet her tomorrow. YIKES!!! What have I done?!
  17. Cat Scan successful She was "curious but showed no inclination to attack"
  18. I saw one go wrong yesterday with a rescue labby - that was the actual reason I was at the SPCA yesterday. This boy is a bit of an Emily case - it took several people in the neighbourhood an entire day to catch him. Wouldn't let humans anywhere near him - open wounds on his ears & very very thin. A lady agreed to look after him until a home was found, but then took him to the SPCA a week later. Everyone was devastated so we started a campaign to home him, but he is so traumatized that nobody came forward. So i volunteered to take him - went to the SPCA & spent hours working with him just to get him out of the kennel & into the grass pen. Filled in the forms & at the last minute they did a "cat scan" and sure enough...he went from cowering under a tree into FULL STALK mode in 2 seconds...the poor kitty bait was not happy at all. Needless to say they wouldn't home him with me after that (I have cats), so we have had a stressful day trying to find a human to take him before he is pts. Im happy to say that the most unlikely candidate came forward - a boy band lead singer, very well built, ink on his arms & a gangster cap - this poor dog is so scared of adult males he just shuts down & lies on the floor if one approaches him. But the world is a funny place & would you believe this guy just clicked with the Lab - the labby wagged his tail for the first time ever today & let him carry him around, and not only that, but he actually walked on a lead with him! Yesterday he was jumping up in the air & flopping around on the ground like a fish when we had him on a leash... My mind is blown & my heart is happy. Below is him today vs two pics of how he was yesterday
  19. Maybe I cant wait till Saturday... They are busy with the "cat test" now
  20. Yip, she has been there since 16th I think, so time is running out. She is so thin, but what a beautiful looking dog - and you know she's not my type...but hell, she is gorgeous!
  21. I made the VERY grave mistake of visiting the SPCA yesterday I have a horrible feeling that if this girl is still there on Saturday & doesnt eat cats, she may have found a new home... Its the eyes...I shouldnt have looked at the eyes....and also the photos....I shouldnt have taken them. She was conviscated for neglect.
  22. Now that is a happy boytjie!!!
  23. WOW WOW WOW!!! There is SO much beauty in this photo!!!!!! Love the black one, but they each have their own beauty. Stunning pic Scale.
  24. Look who came to visit again this weekend - all grown up now
