  14. Checked out Trinitt and they offer a mini Triathlon for ages 12-15450m swim, 10km bike, 2.5 km run. Will go and give it a Tri
  15. Thanks I tried Redhub, but the youngest age they seem to cater for is16. Would have been nice to be able to have some events on our side of the city. Problem seems to be with TSA not wanting to allow younger participants. Surely there must be hundreds of young kids in this country that can safely manage a 750m swim and 20km road cycle, even if they then have to walk the final 5km. Will now contactTrinity and give feedback.
  16. Ant tri events for youths in the gauteng region soon?
  17. Last Race at HNP for the season There will be a prize giving and bring and braai after the event. Next Race 12 Jan 2019
  18. does triathlon also have gear restrictions on the bikes for youths?
  19. What distances would under 13’s normally race?
  20. Thanks Will check it out guys
  21. Hi Guys My son turns 12 early in 2019 and would like to give Tri a go. He is a relatively good cyclist and swimmer. The running may take some work. Where do I go for kids friendly events to introduce him to the sport. What Tri club would you recommend we look at?
  22. Have been riding with a Duct Tape patch foe more than two years
  23. Race Program added Come and test your standing start and TT times before Gauteng Champs
  24. Final program will only be ready on Friday and is dependant on the number of entries, but there should be some youth racing on both Saturday and Sunday. Youth racing will not be part of Inter Provincial. Youth entries are reduced to R50.00 for all entries until 7 Nov and R150.00 thereafter.
  25. Had a very pissed off young man after coming 2nd in the 20 km by a couple of meters because he had to turn around twice while he was way ahead of the pack. Was wondering why the road ranger was chearing him on so much, poor guy must have felt a bit bad for the lighty Not even that nice trophy could put the smile back on his face. All part of learning that life is not always fair and you gotta roll with the punches. My suggestion would be to turn the 20km into an U13 and U11.event. Everyone can ride but only U3 and U11 get podiums. Some mtb races like the USN do that with their short races and it definately draws the youths. And make that prize giving earlier if you want the parents to hang around. We will be back.
