Event Name: Gauteng Track Champs When: 2 March 2019 - 3 March 2019 Where: Hector Norris Park, Gauteng Category: Track Entries and Registration Eligibility This event is open to CSA members registered in the Gauteng Province as well as members from the surrounding provinces that do not host their own provincial Track Champs – Free State, Mpumalanga, Limpopo, Northern Cape and North West. For safety reasons only seasoned Track Riders, riders that have recently competed in at least 2 league, national or provincial races or riders who have successfully completed a track introduction (Learn to Ride) course with an accredited coach will be allowed to participate. Organisers may verify and confirm your eligibility to participate with your Provincial/Regional Track Commission or Coach. Junior, Elite & Masters must be in possession of a valid Cycling SA Racing License. Only a Cycling SA membership is required for U17 and below. All riders must present a copy of their licence or membership at registration and upon demand during the event. No one day licences will be sold for the event. Cyclists are not considered registered until all administrative requirements have been fulfilled: Entry form has been completed Indemnity form has been signed Entry fee has been paid in full Cycling SA Track Racing Licence has been verified Age Categories In all cases, the age of the competitor shall be determined by their age on 31 December of the current year. Masters will be judged in 5-year age categories for individual timed events and 10-year age categories for bunch and team events, these age categories will be as follows: 35-44; 45-54; 55-64; and 65+. Youth cyclists will compete in age categories; U11; U13; U15; U17. Provision will be made for both Boys and Girls categories. Note that these categories work differently from most School sport categories. E.g., cyclists who are 15 or 16 years old on 31 December of the current year are U17, etc. For individual races, categories may be combined with others of similar ability to form bunches of a minimum of four riders. A suitable distance approximately halfway between the two categories’ distances will be ridden. When individual categories are combined medals will be awarded separately. Entries Entries will close at midnight on Sunday 24 February 2019. Entry fees are non-refundable. Entry Fees: Elite, U23 and Junior & Masters : R400.00 Single event : R100.00 Youth (Under 17 and Below) : R200.00 An admin fee of R100.00 will be levied for Late entries. Event Name: PTS- Hector Norris Youth Day #4 When: 27 April 2019 Where: Hector Norris Park, Gauteng Category: Track Hector Norris Park Youth League and Coaching 2019 A Central Gauteng Cycling initiative Sponsored by Performance Through Science (PTS) Dates 26 Jan 2019 23 Feb 2019 30 March 2019 27 April 2019 There will be a Coaching Session for youths in the morning before each of the Youth League Race programs Basic cycling skills Coaching Any youth with their own bike. Any bike as long as you fit on it and it works. Please make sure tires are inflated, chains oiled and brakes working. Coaching will focus on basic cycling and handling skills. (SA Schools Cycling - Primary Schools program) There will be some fun races for normal bikes in the afternoon as well. Two qualified Lady coaches, Elize Niewenhuizen and Lisa Chapman will be presenting this program. Contact Eddie Roller 082 5574667 (eroller@mweb.co.za) for more info. Track Skills Coaching This is for youths that can already ride a bike and would like to give Track Cycling a go.
