  1. that is a bit harsh.maybey they calculated it before there was so many entries? how far until first cut off?
  2. we parked there last year, quite close, and there is bathrooms.mission to get to the parking, but i think traffic was chaos everywhere there.
  3. have only done 1 104km(suppose to be easy),finished it,but after cutt off.so my aim is to finish before cutt off and to not be last :-)
  4. well i have done the d2d 48km,race for victory 54km,dischem ride for sight 62km (that was an easy 1) and emperors 50km,also easy. i am entered for the 80km jacaranda satelite, but looking at the profile and total ascend of 955m i am in for a long ride.but i am taking it as a learning curve.
  5. well u r 1 better than me,i only did the short one,so i think if you manage that u will be fine. i on the other hand am in for LONG ride.
  6. did you do the long one or short d2d?
  7. well i have decided to up my training on the trainer since this morning. dont really believe in walking, seems to tyre me more.so hekpoort will not beat me!
  8. i always struggle to find a group, either too slow or too fast.but in this one i will make a point of staying with a group, even if it means cycling slower.
  9. my and uphills have not made friends yet.but i never give up,even though i might be cycling very slow at some points. time to grow into the 'grown up' cycling
  10. well i have concluded that i am doomed in any case.fairly new to cycling and have only been doing 50km races.so thought the 80km would be a nice in between before i tackle a 100km.looks like i have choosen a nasty one.
  11. they have released new route profiles on cyclelab.80 km=955m and 106 = 1203 m
  12. so 52 or rather 48 about half of that?have entered another race with a lot more elevation so just want to have an idea of what i am letting myself in for
  13. does anyone have the total ascent for either 52 km or 107km?
  14. I might have bitten of more than i can chew at this stage then.on the old profile it did not look that bad, except for that one hekpoort climb. how does hekpoort compare to the d2d last climb up to the finishline that you get?
  15. And the old 97km?as far as i understood they have just made it shorter, but still on the same road?
  16. does anyone have some sort of a route profile for this race?know the distance has changed, but just want to get an idea of difficult thia race is before I enter
  17. 109.2km according to their profile.so good luck and save some legs for the last couple of km's
  18. even on the route profile they give it is shown as 53.2 km even though the event is advertised as 52km. not that i mind, but for the less fit under us a couple of km's can make you or break you
  19. no we'll be the ones cycling at the bac and trying our best not to come last
  20. will c u at the 50km.
  21. the beers sounds good....
  22. we have ridden most of the route on bicycle as well.yes trucks are always a problem there, that and the cars that come flying out of the dirt roads turning off. well friends of mine starting at 7:08. so at least 3 start groups for 52km.
  23. i dont think there is many people doing it,since I am doing the 52km and starting at 7:11
  24. well lynwood in a whole is pretty busy even at quit times.so i just hope traffic cooperates.
  25. anyone else doing this race?or is this going to be a race with not so many entrants?
