  1. Fanie, I think it must be part of household and car also - not sure. Anyways... you'll be happy with the premiums and cover on that so why not.
  2. Francois, it can all be done telephonically. Make the call. Will be worth it.
  3. True Tarmac... just a pity the insurance payment and bike repairs are quicker than my bodies' recovery. I need to step up a bit.
  4. Just got my bike back after Saturday's incident. Put the claim in on Tuesday for bike and clothing, and money paid into my account on Thursday (2 days later). Just picked up my bike from CWC today (Friday) - excellent job done. Indwe has by far got the best premiums on bicycle insurance. OK... our companies' clients does get a group discount at Indwe which reduces premiums drastically so the name MP Tax must be mentioned but still, also the best service ever. Contact Bronia at 021 - 464 8600. Thanks guys!! Now waiting on these freakin roasties to heal so I can get back on the bike

  6. Thanks all for the good wishes. And safe cycling to you all!!!
  7. Tyger, it was on the R304, from Malmesbury's direction, Cloetesville on your left and Kayamandi on your right.
  8. Thanks MariusL - while we were standing there after what happened, a lot of cyclists came past us. Big groups, single riders, etc. I can't believe they picked 3 riders in a group on such a busy road. Crazy stuff.
  9. Thanks Tarmac. Was at CWC on Saturday and seems the frame can be replaced under warrenty. For the rest (including my gear), we'll see what the insurance says.
  10. Jip, and also the reason I'm able to forgive this oke. I hope he would come to realize the wrongness of his actions and would pray for him to be convicted in his heart.
  11. Damage: Carbon frame cracked at rear stay. Sram Force jockey broken and left STI cracked. Rear wheel spokes broken and rim buckled. Myself - only some very sore roasties but nothing broken or too much bruised.
  12. Here?s the irony? Although we were 3 male riders on a busy road they still attacked me and pointed a gun towards me ? seen by all who stopped including an ADT vehicle. They then ran away but stopped about 200m into the field standing there and waiting for about a minute before disappearing into the trees. These guys are so arrogant as no-one is able to do anything to stop them. We spoke to a coloured person there who was hit on the head by this same person with the pistol about 20 minutes earlier and his wallet stolen from him. After that they still had the audacity to do this very close to where they already caused trouble.
  13. Firstly, this is not intended to create any feelings of hate towards anyone but rather as a warning to all to be careful when riding and for the community to be aware of these things and to take action against it. Saturday 07h50 about 500m before the camera as you enter Stellenbosch: Three of us were riding towards Stellenbosch approaching two guys walking next to the road. As we got close to them I saw a stick/pole in ones? hand, a sudden movement and I knew something was wrong. I ducked as I thought the guy was going to hit me but instead he pushed the pole into my rear wheel and I came down at about 40-45km/h sliding on the tar. It all happened very fast, I got up to my feet immediately and one of them were running towards me with a pistol in his hand pointing at me. I saw some cars approaching and decided NOT to let go of my bike, picked it up and ran in the other direction. Two cars pulled of the road and the guy decided let go and ran into the field towards Cloetesville.
  14. Thanks Sarge. Have used a box with plastic wrapping inside. Should be fine. I used a company in Randburg - Flow Express. They charged me R438 for overnight fleight service. Fair price I think. Hope it arrives without damage.
  15. Who can I use to transport a bike from JHB to CPT overnight courier. Need this service by tomorrow afternoon to have the bike here on Friday. Do I need a bike bag or would plastic wrapping do the trick? Thanks!
  16. Thanks. Dropped it of there this morning and can collect at 15h30. First time in his shop and friendly guy.
  17. Thanks Crispy. Will give him a call this morning. Do you have a number? Problem is that I want the wheel completely re-spoked and was told before that its hard to get these exact spokes immediately or have it in stock.
  18. Thanks swsup97. Hope the right person will see this thread but will pm him anyway. Otherwise... will visit my LBS tomorrow morning first thing.
  19. I have a Felt B12 bike and broke my second spoke yesterday 30km into the 126km ride. Any advice or recommendation on re-spoking the whole wheel urgently. I need this done before Tuesday please (same spokes). Bellville area. Pic below.
  20. Popeye, I used Perpetuam for Ironman. Great product and perpetuam helps alot with recovery also but you can use the Recoverite for recovery. Think the USN Epic pro would be slightly cheaper though. Give Fred from Geco a call for Perpetuam. I used to get the best prices from him on the Hammer products 021 982 3446. Tell him MC said you must contact him.
