Many brands strive to list the lowest possible weight, but in reality weight can vary based on size, finish, hardware and accessories. All Giant bikes are designed for best-in-class weight and ride quality.

  3. There is also this which is about R10 000.00 cheaper than the first two. I always seem to hear good things about the Giant Anthems.
  4. How do those two rear shocks compare?
  5. I am trying to make my mind up now between these two. Scott Spark 920 Or Giant Anthem Advanced 29er Last week my list was Scott spark 940, cannondale scalpal 3 and the scott Psark 920. I narrowed it down to the Spark 920. Then I made the mistake of looking at the Giant Anthem. My final decision will be from these two.
  6. Well if that bike ain't stolen ill trade my MTB in on a road bike as punishment for being wrong.
  7. Quincy, could you be my fearless riding partner?
  8. Well compared to the Cullinan half marathon trailseeker Hakahana will be a lot tougher. I reckon it's as tough as van gaalens. Hakahana has hills that can break you and at times have you thinking about selling your bike on OLX then you hit the down hills. Those steep climbs at Hakahana can get very technical so it's not just about the steepness, you have to negotiate loose rocks. Some of those downhill sections are super technical. I haven't seen anyone ride the full Rhinkals at Hakahana with out stopping or putting their foot down.
  9. The half marathons are normally around 550 odd meters. Hakahana has tough climbs.
  10. The guy I ride with rides those down hills like there is no tomorrow. He is fearless. When the good Lord handed out skills and those types of things my riding partner missed the fear draws. I always say to him brandewyn het nie brieke nie.
  11. You must go ride at Hakahana before the race to get a feel for it. That place flows nicely. The only thing that doesn't flow nicely is Rhinkals. That thing spits me out time and time again. I will keep on going at it. Rhinkals is a mind game.
  12. Last year it was in the beginning of October. It was close as hell to 40 deg. I was at Hakahana at 7h00 yesterday morning to ride. It was -5 deg. Those first 8 km's were ice cold. My fingers were turning blue. At 30 km/ hr it feels like - 15.
  13. That sucks. I know a car was also stolen at Hakahana last year and bikes. How did you get home?
  14. They only start again with night races at Red Barn in October again I think. Did the race the other night. They put on a good show there.
  15. That 1/2 marathon route flowed nicely. That thick sand in places kept you on your toes.
  16. Well I've registered. Cullinan was fun. Now it's time to unpack the climbing legs.
  17. Was it not Jumpertrax. I got my time SMS to my cell phone with in an hour of finishing. Great day out.
  18. Well my 3 year old loves that bell on his bike. Chases the dogs around ringing it behind them.
