  1. If you read some posts back you will see I said the bridge looks descent. I think this race is going to be good fun. The only bridge I was negative about was the Heira Safari bridge. I think it needs some work. To make it up to you I will buy you a beer at the race afterwards.
  2. You fall out of bed this morning or have a bad day.
  3. In that case you could drive a car over it. Next I can see three guys riding next to one another crossing it as they race.
  4. I sent Jumpertrax an email about this on the weekend. There were problems with the photos being allocated to race numbers or individuals. Same applied to the Pioneer run and one of the DualX events.
  5. Must say the bridge picture in post 101 does look like who ever built it went to bridge building school and passed. I think the Heira bridge builder maybe drove past the bridge building school. The one thing I will give that Heira bridge is that you get some serious entertainment watching crossings and can have good laughs.
  6. We rode at Heira about 4 weeks ago on a Saturday morning. My mate was in front and went ahead first over that bridge. 60 % of the way across he was fine but then there was a slight right turn on that bridge and the bridge was sagging left in the turn. I was watching and as he was turning his rear wheel was starting to slide left into the sag and the next thing he face planted on the bridge. Neither him nor the bike ended up in the water but he had a good graze on his chin and hurt his neck slightly. Problem with that bridge is its not wide and sure as hell not stable enough.
  7. Yip that Heia Safari floating bridge is a fear factor floating bridge.
  8. My take on floating bridges. Make sure you are in the right gear when you enter the bridge and then go. If there is any doubt or confusion you are going in the drink or ending up on TV.
  9. This guy cut his leg when he fell in and needed stitches which is why he went to hospital. The infection he picked up was from that water that got into that wound.
  10. All I know is don't fall in that spruit water. My son does swimming lessons. Another kid he swims with, her father does a lot of mountain biking. Him and mates were riding the spruit a couple of months back when one of them fell in and cut his leg and needed stiches. He went to hospital they cleaned it up and sent him home. A day or two later it got infected and he then spent 3 weeks in hospital where loosing his leg below the knee was by all accounts looking likely but they managed to save it. This was now 6 weeks back.
  11. I can just see old numb nuts here falling of those floating bridges. As sure as the good Lord put little green apples on trees.
  12. Just checked now and not there yet. Let's give them a day or so. Just out of interest sake the reason I sent them the email was because I could not get the photos to open when I entered my details. They replied if one is trying to get photos for Curro college, Pioneer run and one of the Dual X events that won't work because those photos weren't allocated to race numbers etc.
  13. They were apparently going to be posted on the Jumpertrax site by today. I sent jumpertrax an email regarding this yesterday afternoon and they replied at 01h00 this morning. Not the first time they have replied at that sort of hour. Not so sure these guys ever sleep.
  14. Its Broken. Thinking of getting a 4 pound hammer to fix it.
  15. Go check on Jumpertrax website. Or Go to the SAS Seeding website. Results were there yesterday.
  16. My first crater cruise. That's the bumpiest race I have ever done. Forearms got a proper workout there. I will be back for the next one. I ordered those MTN socks and got hot foot with 15 km's to go. It started off with my right foot but by the time I finished it was in both feet. This seems to happen with thicker socks. Doesn't happen with thinner socks. Had the same thing with the Cullinan Trailseeker. Also wore thicker socks there. No more. Is it my shoes?
  17. Got my race goodies via Aramex this morning. MTN water bottle, MTN lipice and some coffee sachets. I think we are going to cook in the sun there this weekend. Certainly a hell of a lot warmer than it was 2 weeks ago at the trailseeker 3.
  18. I have made use of the Aramex service for this race. How does this work now? Will they deliver the envelope with the batch no and race sticker. Now I also ordered the socks and cycling shirt when I entered. Will this come with the Aramex service or do I need to collect this?
  19. Well heading down on friday. Booked into Accommodation for the weekend. Lets go see what Parys has to offer.
  20. Mmmmm yes not cheap. Same problem i found when looking around.
  21. No particular reason I personally just find Modderfontein a nice venue to ride at. I prefer it to Northern Farms. Well marked etc.
