I agree with you Squire, there programs are heads and shoulders above anyone else offering the same service. I've mentioned this before but the 4 coaches / owners are really good people and also really down to earth if you follow their escapades on twitter, Instagram or Strava. Dr Mike and John seem to do silly things on their bikes.
Does anyone have the results from the Hill climb today? Top 10 in Cat 1 and 2??
Cure your illness.
I cant help not eating cookies
Luus
Wasnt there protests or appeals cause Charles was sent the wrong way right at the finish?
I was really disappointed by the number of riders in $ that I saw turfing their gel wrappers on the road deliberately.
Dry your eyes.
Sorry to hear hope he works something out
Does anyone know if he has been sorted with a bike? If not can someone send me contact details I am happy to help purchase a bike for him to carry on with his travels.
Any details will be appreciated.
3 years is along time and it could of changed hands 4 times before landing at CC so why crucify them cause they sold your bike when at the time due to the selling process was legit.
I agree with Vetseun, you had no proof then and you still dont except your word which in turn is someone elses word as well.
Get over it and move on and let the guy who is riding your bike enjoy and get some excercise
As far as I know he is riding with Brandon Stewart isn't he?
Is Brandon allowed to race?
Why? Have you seen either of their training programmes?
Why? Have you seen either of their training programmes?
Thats exactly what I though re: training.
The only bunch in question is, according to Twitterbird, is CAT 1. No other.
Unless you are implying concerns within CAT 2.
Hope not.
What are you talking about? Im not implying anything about Cat 2, the guys that rode away on Oukaaps ride away from everyone every weekend and had a comm following them so they couldnt cheat.
Im saying that not just cause they Cat 1 is it wrong to cheat Im saying in any cat or group its wrong to cheat and cut the course.
Pay attention 'Dale this isnt high grade math here.
TPbike I hope you slept ok last night after seeing this? I hope they waved hello to you at least?
That is why I prefer not racing in the S-Suburbs. It is dangerous plain and simple, PPA can be partly blamed but I do understand that they get pressure to host a race in that area, the S-Sub is not suitable for cycle races and to host a race there you are looking for trouble. Even if PPA had proper marshal's there is so many other dangerous factors that could come into play.
Sad part is the routes are awesome but, we as cyclists can moan as much as we like but if there is no full road closure you can forget a safe ride.
While I agree to a point with you I dont agree that its not suitable to hold events in the SS. They have been holding them for years and due to 1 bad marshalling event you cannot blame every race or stigmatise that area for races.
Many, many races have been run successfully in the SS and the Journey event at the beginning of the year is proof of that.
Also, you can only ride Paardeberg so many times in a season!
Oh no
That would be horrific for the reputation of the CAT 1 bunch
It would be no different to any other bunch cheating with regards to cutting the route. There are riders who race Cat 1 that should never be there. I was in the 2nd bunch or chase group in Cat 2 after the front bunch of about 8 guys were never seen again half way up Oukaaps and we were picking up Cat 1 riders at the top of Oukaaps.
The reputation for anyone cutting the route is horrific not just Cat 1.
Normally everyone bitched like homo's about the goodie bag they never got or wasn't up to their standard, then is turned out everyone races for a medal which again, was never up to par, now it seems that has changed to 2 cups of coke.
Safety I agree is 1 thing and the most important but really Hubbers get a life about the others please. Its a cup of coke not Lance Armstrongs old medical supplies.
Yip sharing the same 24 hours a day you do and working 2 jobs.
@MTB_roadie come race at the Polkadraai series on Saturday "Elite" its nice and short for you Johan.
Most "Pros" in SA all have full time jobs. There is less than a handful that dont. You no different so please dont fool yourself as you are "Pro Cyclist Raymond Cox" are you not?
We arent all "Pro's" Raymond.
Does anyone know what happened to Timo Cooper? I think I saw him sitting at the spur stop and he didn't look ok. I was rushing so didn't chat. He is one of our best so just hope it was only a bad day nothing else.
I also really liked the new start. It gives you a bit of time to sort out the field and we don't have to go through the gate. Wouldn't mind a few extra kms round there at all. As usual an excellent event top marks for Dryland.
BOOM! Thats what happened.
Matt Beers 10th SA rider, 16th overall. Just turned 20, 1st ever ultra-marathon and this can't be much more than his 5th ever mtb race.
I spoke to him at Trail of Origins, says he raced motocross before and was in America and broke his leg or foot and could not ride at that level any more and came home and sat with his coach and trainer who has has been his coach for the last 6 years or something and they decided to go MTB and the rest is history.
This youngster has a very big future ahead of him and seems to be in good hands by the looks of it.
The route is not the same as last year
After looking at last Sundays results I am looking forward to racing with 2 old returnees in SV who have been absent from racing for a season in 2013. Well, I say that until I get left behind on Vissers.
