  1. If thats the case then the punishment does not befit the crime.

But I guess the 2nd place team wants to win really badly

Do you know the 2nd place team appealed or put the protest in? Why would you say that is unfair? They cheated and took a short cut to save time.

If I was the 2nd team I would also protest just like Kevin and David used to appeal and protest anything and everything they could come up with against Burry and Sauser when they used to get their asses handed to them year after year at Epic.

  2. On a finish like that no one will have anything for J-Rod, his kick is just to strong in concession. Long way to go till July but Froome is in trouble, his attack was strong but AC and J-Rod followed pretty easy as AC only went much later once he saw danger and they dropped Froome who couldn't make up ground again. Froome was in incredible form - same as now - this time last year but his competition wasn't and now they have decided to get their ducks in a row and the outcomes are very different. Also Sky have clearly got a a little wake up call with JTL, Henao being isolated with dodgy blood values and sending Porte home just in case to get his stuff under control which in turns leaves Froomes top up supply similar to everyone else's.

The Tour come July will be one of the best to date I believe with Nibali, Froome, AC. Quintana, J-Rod all showing incredible form right now.

  3. So fedgroup just replied to me on Twitter...

@RudiPollard @MaxKnoxcycling switched his focus from cross-country. He was looking for an opportunity to return to endurance events.

Isnt this exactly what he did in December when he signed with Ghost for XCO? Something seems fishy to me

You and many others are saying the same thing and its not good things. Waiting for a bomb to drop here.

  4. I rode this event and saw guys go the wrong way at the marker and shouted to them but they kept going and the rest of us went the right way.The route was so hard for me personally but the markings were not the problem in any way.

Cant understand how you all went wrong when everyone else in the 75km from the Elite Ladies to Men A-C went the right way. To me its not the markings that were wrong here, its you.

  5. Just about done compiling so if you have entered you'll get a email today with your seeding.

If you not happy with the seeding come to registration and we'll assist where possible.

Please chat to other organisers to release result with ID numbers so SAS saseeding.co.za can use that to create more accurate seeding in your region. (Some organisers are quite reluctant)

I have not received my seeding mail today, are they still going out or is there someone I can contact for it?

  6. Capricorn, how can you say it wasnt safer and if the contact happened it would be worse? Cyclists die from being hit from behind, not to sure what is worse than that, please help me understand. Also, at the time of me being unbelievably lost, that option was the safest. Was it wrong? Yes in your eyes, in my eyes? No. Why? Cause I made it back into town safely, showered, had a meal and rode this morning instead of maybe eating through a pipe or worse shoudl I have known I had to please you and your ability to see into the future.

To me that was the safest option and had the most positive outcome as I could see oncoming traffic where before I couldnt and I had no real choice cause I took the wrong turn off. But still.

Just want to confirm then that none of you when getting lost have driven up a 1 way etc and so on? Wow, this place is full of perfect people. It makes Jesus Christ the sinner and you all died for his sins.

Well done for all leading perfect lives. Please carry on.

  7. That was me in fact Tomik and I have never been on that route before and missed the correct turn off / offramp. I also thought it may be safer at the time once it happened instead of being hit from behind by a vehicle.

I am sorry Tomik if your whole evening was ruined by a honest mistake I happened to make and you feel better now insulting and abusing me on a forum. I hope your day is now better at my expense.

To the other Hubbers that saw there may be a different outcome to Tomik's abuse. I thank you.

  8. I thought the route was really great, separated the men from the wannabes very quickly, especially in Cat 2. By lap 4 there were about 12 guys away - of which I was definitely not 1 of them and decided to watch the action instead.

with about 25min to go it was 2 Felt, 2 'Oconnor, 1 Cyclelab, 1 Aurecon left which tuned out to be a good race from a spectators point.

Well done on a great circuit, the wind wasnt in the organisers favour but thats Cape Town for you.

Lucky Luke - I thought you were going to win this and that the course suited you.

  9. I know I've pondered this before but how many actually do?

I can not say how many people do or know about this as often when people go "scientific" to say they believe it doesnt apply to them cause they a recreational rider. At the end of the day everyone wants to see some form of improvement in their riding not so? A simple FTP test is a simple and great way to see how your improvements are coming on and with Strava for example its a cheap and accurate way to test without being tested.

  10. If youre loading actual power numbers and not using strava estimates based on rider weight then surely FTP estimate must be accurate?

When you upload your files to Strava and have a powermeter on your bike the power data is 100% accurate on the recorded ride or race you upload. Therefore the FTP is correct.

Even without a powermeter the data on Strava is pretty accurate, it is within a 5% range and that is good enough to work off for any athlete or rider wanting to use that as a training tool and "test"

  11. I had ErgoFit at one of the big CT bike shops who then built my MTB up using these measurements, just days before Knysna races last year (my previous bike was stolen). The back pain I suffered during these 2 events proved that this system does not work for everyone.

Steve at CycleLab in Cape Town changed my stem and handlebars and did a new fitment - free of charge too. But its personal preference I guess. Trial and error as to what works for you.

A bike fit is only as good as the person doing it. I had a BG fit done by 1 bike shop and my knees and back we in agony after a few KM's. I call Specialized direct and they sent me to another BG fit shop in Tableview area. Did the fit and have been brilliant and pain free since.

I wouldnt say the system doesnt work for everyone, I would say that fitter didnt do a good enough job or knew what to do correctly.

Steve does Ergofit so I am sure his settings on the bike were Ergfit based so there you have someone who knows the system.

Debbie is the lady to chat to

Heard many complaints about her fittings.

  13. Sorry about that! it was a bit more than 50.

I think I was around 8,9 or 10th in the end.

Well now I dont feel so bad then, I dont even do that speed down a hill never mind on the flats. Well done the 2 of you really made the deciding factor during the race with that move.

  14. I thought it was a great race. Smashed the **** out of it and it felt grand. The weather was lovely and sunny with a gentle breeze. Did not notice or care where the PPA mats were - which was lucky as it seems to have ruined some people's day.

I was convinced this was going to be my 1st League race finishing with the Cat 2 bunch after going over Hels with the group and seeing people get blown out the back. Confidence was high until you and your team mate put everyone in the gutter at about 50km/h and ended my dream and turned it into a nightmare with another 30 riders or so. Whatever happened there was spectacular, the group I was in to the finish were joking how quickly our race was over.

    How did you finish?
