  1. Hey that’s me!!! I need some commission for all the sales!
  2. I vote garmin. used polar for ages, but got into triathlons and more mountain biking. garmin alot easier to switch between bike/run, they 310XT is perfect for this. and the new 910XT is almost launched. you do have to charge the garmins, but have not found this a problem as you normally plug into pc when you download. for stage races have to take charger with. i also enjoy the navigation of the garmin edge 800, has got me back home when I've been exploring on the road or trails, and fastest route home in the rain!! also garmin is at least ant+ active, so can pair power meter if you ever want to, polar not there yet.

  16. hey there. i got a a Rock Shock SID and had the same prob after i got it back from a service, cos it was set up by the LBS first time and was working fine, but after service was very stiff. iv found the best is to play around with the - and + air settings and ride it by feel. - air setting are for small bumps, more air = softer ride. + air setting for the big hits, more air = harder ride on big hits. i have my air setting on 115psi for -, and 130psi for +. i am 2metres tall and weigh 95kg. my sag is on about 30%. they say 10 - 35% sag is recommended, depends on rider. i have found that with more sag you have sharper turning, as fork doesn't depress on the turns as much. i am still playing around with the + air settings, as havnt got full full travel yet, but ride feels good and dont wanna mess with it to much...\ sorry for the long story, but hope that helps
  17. know this is a old post, but in hilton this weekend and keen to ride on sat morning! anyone know of a group mtb ride? thanks

  19. oh, and it the best way to measure chain wear styill with a metal inch ruler with the whole 12 inch system...
  20. hi all... need some advice please. had a new chain fitted by LBS when had a frame issue, as they said chain was worn to 1%. they said i may need to get a new cassette, as new chain may not fit and slip. at first was ok, but now slipping a bit in some gears, not all, after about 500km's. And can ride with no major problems. question is : 1) do i ride with current set up till slipping gets worse and then fit new chain and cassette? (which i have in my spares box). 2) or do i fit a new cassette now with the 500km old chain? how often do you guys chain your cassette? and does chain rotation help? heard that rotating 2 or 3 chains every 200km will make cassette and chains last alot longer.. thanks...
  21. hi all. wondered if any body has tried to get or has experience with custom fit saddles? i think specialized has a programme for it? getting a sore bum and dont wanna get saddle sores, as got some raw areas now, and wondering if it is the saddle? have taken up mtb and doing 70km races and training for stage races, so maybe its just the increased time in the saddle? does the skin harden up with more training? thanks
