  1. What are the rules surrounding E-Bikes in the road groups? We had a couple of guys on E-bikes in E bunch which I personally just found a little odd. I think at CTCT they have to start further back and they have to ride slower than a certain minimum time. Personally, I didn't have a problem them in the bunch. It makes no difference to me what bikes guys are riding, provided they hold their lines. There were a couple of folks who realised that these guys were on E-bikes about 70km into the route and subsequently started complaining to the traffic marshal, shouting profanities at the e-bikers, etc. I just heard all the commotion behind me and wondered what the actual rules are?
  2. Hahah, I may or may not have been the instigator of the high pace in E bunch. I was on a serious mission! Spoke to a buddy of mine at the finish who'd started in D and he mentioned they were riding frustratingly slowly so they had no right to complain when we caught them. Have to agree with you though, they were not happy and made that merge unnecessarily dangerous.
  3. Can someone explain to me how the following would affect my seeding index: I did the 99er on Saturday and started in E batch. I haven't done much racing recently so my current index doesn't reflect my form. I was on the front for most of the race, driving the pace of the bunch as best I could. We'd caught the entirety of D batch within 27km, merging to form one large group. It's obviously flat and fast so breaking away seems near impossible on that route. In the end we did 02:28:23, going faster than everyone in D batch and equaling the fastest rider in C batch. My question is this: If I did the same time from E batch as the fastest time in C batch, does my seeding index improve more than everyone in D and C or is everything purely related to my time vs the winner irrespective of where I started? I hope this question makes sense.
  4. I'm aiming to fast train myself from E to C as quickly as possible on the way out to Malmesbury😂
  5. Group E goes off at 6:26
  6. Grew up knowing Jarryd in his Downhill days, he's always been one of my biggest inspirations to ride! Still great to see him at all the local races! Great Guy
  7. I'm trying to design a new cycling kit for my local bike shop, but my drawing is pathetic, are there any sites online where you can design a cycling kit? Or any ways of making it a bit easier?
  8. I wouldn't dare! #apple for life
  9. I downloaded the strava app onto my iphone 4 a few weeks back, but it doesn't seem to work. I don't have any form of cycle computer or cyclometer or anything but every time I start to record, put it back into my pocket and go for a ride it says incomplete workout or something or it just opens as if nothing's happened! Any advice on solving the problem?
  10. Any idea when Giant's 27.5's will start coming in?
  11. Looking to buy a new bike, definitely going 650b! I've been looking at a silverback syncra 2 and the Giant xtc advanced 27.5. I got to ride a syncra 1 today for a short while and it truely felt amazing! Between the syncra 2 and the xtc, the xtc is specced a little better and i think the frame might be stronger and/or lighter. The syncra is around R20 000 and the xtc around R28 000. Any advice or opinions on what to go for?
  12. Hey guys! I'm 15 and really competitive. I enter every race I can find and recently started winning most of them. Unfortunetely I'm still on a 26er. I really want to upgrade to a carbon 27.5 or 29er i've looked at a silverback syncra but I need more info, any advice?
