  1. Was getting the same vibes fro m him as the infamous wood collector
  2. Its is very helpful indeed
  3. That is what I am worried about. Not sure if they will assist. But no harm in going there to hear what they say
  4. You make a valid point. Will get my paperwork together and go to the copshop over the weekend
  5. Final conclusion to this case. I phoned Roelof last night on the new number he listed and informed him about all the information I collected on him since this fraud thread was openend and gave him a deadline to refund me before I expose his dealing and open a case of fraud against him. As of a few minutes ago, I have been refunded after nearly 4 months. I can only hope this was a lesaon for him and that he turns from his ways. Be careful in dealing with this individual. Lekker weekend all
  6. And he is back folks. New name, selling the same shock he scammed me with https://bikehub.co.za/classifieds/item/rear-shocks/754979/rockshox-monarch-rc3-plus truecaller identifies his number as Roelof as well : 0743569038 @Matt @Maverick Goose gotcha mate. Feel free to contact me here to organize shipment of said shock to me, or my refund
  7. Got a the tool to remove the a DT Swiss 350 lock ring for sub R200 and a few other goodies. All in all R350ish, paid R70 rax and had the parcel in less than 10 days from order. First time buying from and was a lot more pleasent experience than aliexpress/fleabay. And more than happy with the tool quality
  8. Has to be my Ibis mojo hd3. Might not be "current" but still riding it and cant see myself buying anything else anytime soon. Best allrounder I have owned thus far and extremely playfull coming down the trails
  9. Quick update. Managed to get the rims sorted sorted. Got some new nipples from Rapide and it sorted my issue. Thanks for the sanity check with spoke lengths
  10. Thanx. Will provide feedback after a rebuild tonight.
  11. Thank you @David Marshall. I have originally used Sheldon Brown's resources for my entry onto rim building. I have built about 20 sets of wheels in my life, so I still have loads to learn. Will look into the book you suggested. Much obliged
  12. Hi @PregoRoll Thanx for the reply. I confirmed the hub dimensions on the calculator with the hubs, all looks fine. I doublechecked on prowheelbuilder and sapim's spoke length caculators as well, only issue is neither of those have an input for rim offset. my limited experience with offset rims *this is the third set I have built) is that the spoke lengths are usually the same of very close to being the same, so the values looked right. I will re-lace the rims again tonight as a sanity check. Glad that my calculations weren't that bad
  13. Hi @droo, thanx for the reply. That was a typo on my side, was in a rush to get the tread posted before my morning standup meeting. Correct spoke lengths below. Front: 293mm Left and 293mm Right Rear: 290mm Left and 289mm Right I measure the hubs to confirm the calculator's dimensions and everything is spot on. My issue is that the spokes seems to be about 1mm too long. I will relace them tonight and see if I made a mistake. Did 5 wheels this weekend, and the other 3 worked out perfect.
  14. Good morning guys and girls, I need a sanity check form the technically inclined again. I am currently lacing up a set of 29"Raceface Arc 27 Offset to Shimano SLX Hubs. Rim details: 29"Raceface Arc 27 Offset ERD: 600 Offset: 3.8 Holes: 32 Hubs: Front :Shimano SLX HB-M7110-B Front Hub - 15 x 110mm Boost, Center-Lock, Black Rear: Shimano SLX FH-M7110-B Rear Hub - 12 x 148mm, Center-Lock, Micro Spline, Black, 32H I s used https://spokecalculator.qbp.com/spokecalculator/ to calculate my spoke lengths and I am using the 3x pattern. Spoke lengths: Front: 293mm Left and 283mm Right Rear: 290mm Left and 289mm Right I oriented the offset with the deeper side towards the freehub body in the rear and the deeper side to the disc rotor in the front. and laced the wheels up with 16mm brass nipples. Yet I can get tension on the spokes. the spokes are starting to stick out on the spoke heads as well. Did I miss something? or was my calculations wrong? First time building rims that I encountered this. Thanks in advance
  15. Dissasembly complete. Next steps are to make the cuts, drill new holes and off to the powdercoaters. To be continued
  16. Im sure its possible. Allready use the levitate racks in the garage. I plan to make it so that i can bolt in the extra 2 racks if and should i ever need to carry more bikes
  17. Hi guys and girls Been a while since I did a build project. And seems I have the opportunity to post one again. I recently was gifted a Peruzza 4 bike rack. It is in need of some attension and a 4 bike is a tad bit long due to the rack having to clear my rear mounted spare wheel on my ecosport. Hence the idea to cut it and turn it into a 2 bike carrier. Seems like a perfect project seeing that cycling will be on the back burner for a while with baby no2 about to arrive. Plan to strip the rack, cut it down to 2 bikes, re powdercoat it and reassemble. Will post updates as I go along.
  18. Hi guys and girls I have a bad update unfortunately. I have been blocked on whatsap again. Seems that Roelof Coertse @Shooter mc gaven has taken a turn to the dark side and have dissapeared with my money. Please be weary of dealing with him. I have sent him a dm requesting a refund, which i doubt will happen. Thus I will see what I can do to open a case of fraud against him over the weekend. What a dissapointing conclusion.
  19. That's on me. Will use bikehub pay in future (even for smaller items). Lesson learnt
  20. Update. @Shooter mc gaven contacted me. The situation was explained. We have an agreement in place for delivery.
  21. Saw that as well. Can only hope this is easily explained miss communication issue. Else it seems like the classifieds have gone belly up judging from most of my last purchases here.
  22. Hi guys and girls, Has anyone dealt with shooter mc gaven recently ( @Shooter mc gaven - 0832353544 )? I purchased a Rockshox monarch shock from him on Friday and did an EFT. Since then the user went quiet, it looks like I have been blocked on whatsapp and phone goes directly to voicemail. A quick search of his mobile number brought up a second bikehub profile @roelofcoertse that is disabled (even saw that I had successful dealing with him in the past on this profile). He had a few ads up on Friday, but all of them has been deleted since. Has anyone had successful dealings with the seller recently? Or did I pay school fees on the classifieds for the umpteenth time?
  23. Another +1 for @M0Sambo As well as Nic. Used both before and was happy with their product and service
  24. For Clarence drive its best to drive to Gordonsbay and stop there by Spur, and cycle from there. The section past greenways is always dodge. I try to cycle Helderberg / Somerbosch regulary , with no issues in the past 4 years+ cycling there. There however was an incident or 2 near the water treatment plant on the wannabees trails a while back if I remember correctly. No issues on Helderberg. Cycled the R44 quite a bit as well without any issues. We usually just skipped the Lord Charles section and opted for Old Stellenbosch road and climb back on the R44 at Irene Road. If you are a Winelands trail permit holder, you can contact Esme to add you the the Telegram group. That way you can stay up to date with issues, trail closures etc.
  25. let hope it ends better for them than for Bullet-Tooth Tony
