  1. Lekker rebuild project. Always had a soft spot for Mongoose. Awesome father son project
  2. Did the 37km route last year. Hardest 37 km I have ever done. No "free" km there at all., you have to work the whole route. Still an amazing experience, and crazy awesome views. Cant wait to do it again this year
  3. I fully agree, did it last year. definitely on my to do for this year as well
  4. Try Carbon Bike Repair in Durbanville. James does very decent, well priced work. Repaired a frame and crank for me in the past
  5. Started in 3g as well. First CTCT ever. Wasnt nearly ready. Legs gave out just after Chappies. 2 very awesome ladies got me back on the bike after about 30 minutes of working out the knots in my legs. Managed to complete the ride in 4h58. Slightly bummed with my time, but snowflake me always bails on riding days if the wind pumps...so we learn. Awesome event though. Will hopefuly be the first of many
  6. Quite enjoyed the race on Saturday. Had 2 issues though, My hydration pack bladder decided to develop a leak before the first water point, leaving me with an extremely wet backside. And my BB died within the first 5km's of the race. Never felt so self conscious on a bike ever. Could hear me squeaking a mile away. But guess the noise motivated me to ride faster to end the assault on my as well as the fellow riders ears as fast as possible. Still managed to finish the 40km route in 2H40, 35 minutes faster than my previous effort last year. So all in all a good race. Replaced my bb yesterday after cleaning my bike and squeak is gone at least. Thinking of klapping the 60km next year.
  7. Had a similar experience buying a fork from them a while back. On the photo's the fork looked mint. When I received it, the fork was bone dry inside due to an oil leak, seals was busted and the stanchions looked like it was mauled by a bear. The ended up refunding me for a seal kit, but didn't take any responsibility for the damage. Luckily I got a crown assembly from a fellow hubber for the fork, else I would have had to chuck the fork in the bin. Can't and wont recommend any dealings with them
  8. Only place it fits on a Ibis Mojo Hd3. Not ideal. Will move it over to my Merida Big 7
  9. Awesome service from Lyne Components. Ordered my Triangle storage box for my Ibis Mojo HD3 this morning and just received it. Plan to fit this where the porchop bag is supposed to go. will add photos of it mounted to the bike bit later
  10. Awesome. Just put a 2.35 Rock Razor on my bike last night, still to go try it out on the trails. Still rocking the ZTR Flow Ex rims (25.5 internal, 29 external), but the tyre is sitting quite "fat". as wide as my current P.O.S Onza 2.4. Still have to get a better front tyre to replace my 2.4 Onza.
  11. Anyone have any experience with the Roughcut camper on the Xfusion Sweep? Currently have the RL damper, Allready had it tuned at Robbie's ,but the small bump compliance is no where near my previous Fox. Broke my wrist a few years back and need all the compliance I can get. Thinking of replacing the RL with the HLC damper, but not sure if it's worth the money
  12. I had the same issue in 3B. Ended up breaking away from the bunch and rode alone. Still managed to complete the race in 3H50, so stoked with my time. Had a good race, Only gripe was the traffic into Val de Vie. But had ample time to get to my group seeing that I am one of the lower seeded riders. And Helshoogte at 65km was actually quite fun. Especially the descend after the grind to get to the top. Will do it again next year even if it's at the same venue. Will just have to get up even earlier. Got within 5km of Val De Vie at about 05h40, and took me 30 minutes to get to the parking.
  13. Thanks, Haven't done it in a while, was a slight shock on the system with the headwind going up there yesterday. But well worth it
  14. Scream when you want to join mate. Need to up my training session drastically this year
  15. Only have experience with the ibex. Might also be due to still tweaking the ibis setup, but have very litte faith in them after my last 2 wipeouts due to the front wheel just letting go in corners
  16. +1 Worst tyres i ever wasted my money on. As soon as i have cash to replace them, they are gone. Rocking 2.4 frc 60 tpi onza ibex front and rear, on stans flow ex rimw. Ate sh*t a few times allready due to the lack of grip, especially the front wheel. Running 1.6 bar in it just to get by at the moment
  17. One of the last training rides before Sunday's Stellenbosch Cycle Tour
  18. Ending of 2018 with a mellow ride on our farm
  19. Entered. and by the looks of the entries, the odd might be quite well to win
  20. Epic event. Most fun i had on my bike in a while. Awesome trails as well. Thanx to all the organizers
  21. Looking forward to Saturday for this race. gonna be interesting to say the least. Have't really ridden in a month due to being sick, and the race will be my new build's maiden voyage. going to be an interesting 37km
  22. Can highly recommend Nic's work. did some awesome decals for my DH bike frame and fork
  23. -- premature reply. didn't check the OP's original post date
  24. cycle jonkers alone 99% of the time. never had any issues. Just don't land on your head
  25. I have a Rockshox MC3.1 190x50. You can have it for mahalla. Inbox me if interested
