  2. Hi All, picked this up on our Community Forum. Hopefully this stops, it is becoming a problem in the Forest. Slight edit.. "Hi all. There is a guy who keeps riding his mountain bike "off trail" in newlands forest. I have asked him politely more than once not to and he has sworn at me and thrown me the finger more than once. Saw him again this morning (Thu 3 June) at about 7.45 exiting into newlands neighborhood. He was wearing sky blue riding kit. If anybody has cameras within newlands neighborhood please can you check if he passed your camera between 7.40 and 7.55 this morning? It really annoys me as I also cycle in the forest (on the marked trails) and rogue riders put that privilege at risk for all of us. Please check your cameras for a single mtb rider in sky blue kit in and around newlands neighborhood this morning 7.40 to 7.55 / share with other groups in Newlands to check their cameras. Fair chance we can identify and report him. If this whatsapp goes wide enough and reaches that rogue rider: You know who you are - stop being an xxxx- I am going to catch you eventually..." Hopefully he sees this.
  3. Special on wider MTB wheelset! http://www.cwcycles.co.za/product/american-classic-wide-lightning-wheelset These guys! Please.........
  4. On my 4th Anthem, (composite now) Buy it, ride it like it. Its cheap compared to the others. Just park it next to an S-Works / Tallboy / Vipa and look at the componants, same same. (R20k still in your pocket) ....and bullet proof. Evidence = Epic Good luck with what you decide. (No need for Sterri Stumpie, not banting )
  5. Chat to the LBS there. Guys are friendly and helpful. Imbabala just outside past the rosehill centre. 7 km up the dust road is fun. Game park you are allowed to ride in. Watch for thorns. Further on also nice 20 km route marked out in game park further toward Kenton. Forgot the name. Just ask. Nice 50km to Bathurst and back along Sand roads past the fire station. If you carry on past Bathurst and turn towards Kenton where the ox braai is you come out at rosehill having gone past imbabala from the other side. About 75km. Enjoy. Jealous.
  6. Registered KUSA boxer as Kina Shimano Kina is a famous South American female boxer. Shimano, you all know .
  7. well then, glad you got that off your chest.
  8. Orchid: Brilliant, well done, thank you. Onion: Bitter, Bad, many levels of sour. Today’s Orchid: Thank you to the lady in Camps Bay that hung back on the small kicker up to Clifton in the morning traffic to let us cycle safely past all the parked cars, then coming past us widely and waving when we said thanks. Today’s onion: The heavily overweight driver and his wife in the white Mercedes who made a point of pulling up next to us in Sea Point next to the pool, shouting and swearing that we should get out the way, while the right lane of the double lane road was empty.

    Argus 2014

Ok, so we all now have a great understanding of the index calculation. Can someone explain WHY non seeding races were used for the index? We bust a gut to get to official seeding races, do them and for some reason the Argus decides to include arbitrary races from 2014? Yes, yes, I know its probably the way to do it, but then let us know. I would have asked for a loan from the bank and done every race this year if Id known it would help and skipped the One Tonner, or the Burger etc etc Not sure how that happened.
  10. Seems like you should have just stayed in CT and done three rides in January mate has 2014 99er, Tour de PPA and Boukeart all from 2014 used for his index. he is in C from that.
  11. Argus seeding.... WT..? Mate has had 3 rides from January (Cape Town) used in his seeding ? all non seeding rides. Seriously ...... 2014 99er, Tour de PPA and Bouckaert? How did that happen. WT..
  12. Yina.... Ok caring has stopped. Forgotten how many eediots are out there.. Cant help them all.
  13. No No. This was late afternoon, 15h00 and heading toward Muizenberg near Kirstenbosch 1 of the riders going up Wynberg hill on the corner of Edinburgh and Hillwood Road. Others all along the way to Muizenberg. Definitely NOT the race. or they were VERY late. . Point is that its dangerous, not only for the cyclist (I am one) but for the drivers of the cars. ( I am also one)
  14. No No. This was late afternoon, 15h00 and heading toward Muizenberg near Kirstenbosch. Others all along the way. Definitely NOT the race. or they were VERY late.
  15. Seriously, yesterday (Sunday) I must have seen at least 10 people cycling on the M3 between UCT and Muizenberg. Going both ways, head down, on their OWN. Of the ones I could see, they were all proudly displaying their 2013 Argus number (sticker) on their helmets. It’s the time to train for the Argus but guys really, the M3 is not the place to do this. The few out there are giving everyone a bad name. It also just happens to be illegal. Please tell your mates who are taking the bikes out the shed from April 2013, to be more careful (and cleverer ) http://www.capetown....artCycling.aspx
  16. Just sold my Anthem X0 (zero) FULL XT 3x10 for the Anthem Advanced (XT 3x10, yes I fixed that small problem). Would do it again in a heart beat. Frame is amazing, parts you can change / upgrade. (and will have to upgrade if you ride frequently) Agree on the Reba.
  17. Ive just had a look at his "boobs" and they look a bit stiff? or is this a different thread? Lucky I live in CT too, This guy looks like he is from said Sandton.
  18. Great list. Thanks for adding. My list in order of best Stage races EVER (that I have done) 1. Houwhoek Tour (Best Kept secret... until now) 2. W2W (Most amazing organisation and route ever... ever) 3. Sani2C (Great area to ride) terrible SHOWERS! All the others in here (Grape Escape, CA2C,) 99. Epic (its great but tough and EXPENSIVE!, not as social and enjoyable as the list above, just an 8 day afkak) besides this years which I heard was easy . Real MTBers did 2012. I have not done B2Bush and JHB2C, but doing Imana on Monday. Ill let you know where it slots in
  19. I bought both my Giant MTB bikes from these guys (Yes you need two MTB's minimum). I called Calvin the legend mechanic (yes that one) and asked him where to have my bike prepped for Imana (yes, I got in) and he said Devon - Action cycles. Dropped it Monday, ready today. Marco phoned me told me its ready and enjoy the ride. Best service by FAR in Cape Town.! (by Far)
