Hopefully he only plays in the first half and gets subbed during half-time. Don't like the idea of Damian starting but it's a bit better than having him as a substitute for Steyn. Just a pity Serfontein is injured as I would think that he and Steyn would be our preferred centres along with Am and Kriel. Sadly midfield is looking very thin outside of those four.

Thought that Reinach played well too. I think our scrum halves seemed sorted for RWC19. Got strong feeling our our scrummies will be Faf, Herschel and Reinach with Embrose waiting in the wings if he can find his form again. Ja a solid group of players already in NZld, already over their jetlag. I think ito selection for Saturday we might see a surprise or two. Gotta think that both Etzebeth and PSdT will start and that Beast will also be in the match day 23. Always good to win against the Aussies. Seeing that the team that did so got referred to as a 'B' team we either have great depth or the Aussies are even weaker than one cares to admit to. Thought we were patchy throughout but definitely better during the second half. Herschel Jantjies was fantastic and has a bright future ahead. His namesake also had a fantastic day, perhaps his best in a Bok jersey. Midfield was disjointed until Frans Steyn came on. So improvement can be made there. Lizo also had a good debut game as well. Beast played like a man possessed and I thought our scrum worked well throughout the match. Other than our first line out going wrong the rest were solid without being spectacular but a decent source of possession for us. We looked good with ball in hand but our defensive cohesion needs work. That said next Saturday will show where we really are at.

I'd rather the Poms than either of Australia or India.

Them are the rules Stretch. Just like the lucky four overthrows that Stokesy got in the final over of the main match. That said I don't think that the Super Over detracted from the quality of the match or prevented the better team from winning the trophy. All told it is going to be a match long remembered and long celebrated. As Nasser said during the commentary the game of cricket as whole won. It was just simply fantastic and engrossing to watch!

What an unbelievable final! What drama, what tension. Match swung first to England then to New Zealand back to England and back again to New Zealand and then finally in the super over to England! This has been the most incredible match to watch. Brilliant individual performances on both sides. The best ODI game of all time imho! I'm drained! What a rollercoaster ride that was!

The Ashes are up next for the Aussies, so only those who won't be involved with that particular series will be going home. Still it's nice to see the Aussies getting dumped out the CWC. Will be pleased with which ever team wins in the final but I got a feeling that England is going to take their first win.

Agreed. It came back to bite us hard. Also it seemed that there was a reluctance to play all three of Morris, Phehlukhwayo and Pretorius in the same team. The moment we did we batted some what better and we ended up winning those matches (SL & Aus). All we had to do to accommodate Pretorius in the team was drop Amla. A hard but necessary call. All of that said I feel that we wouldn't have done much better than what we eventually did. Maybe fifth or sixth instead of seventh. Realistically we weren't going to be semi final contenders when we had no real idea of our best eleven and our best back up players.

I felt he was worth the risk. Sadly it didn't pan out.

Didn't follow game to closely so wasn't entirely aware that MSD had upped his SR that drastically. Still a fantastic knock given the circumstance. Unfortunately it just didn't work out for him and India.

Gotta wonder what Kohli is going to say now given how he had defended Dhoni and the way he has gone about his batting. Regardless of MSD's performance with the bat his status as a living legend is pretty much assured.

High but not intentional saved Bryn's skin there I reckon. That said the Jaguares made a further three opportunities in the second half that they just couldn't convert. The best of which was Moroni's effort shortly after Mu'onga had made it 13 - 3. Had Orlando's run been a bit more angled he might've been able to grab Moroni's pass and scored. It would've been a 3 point game at that time and who knows what might've been. That said I do feel that the Crusaders were that bit more clinical and deserved the win but it took some effort on their part as the Jaguares played with the intent and confidence to win.

Wee bit sad for Jaguares! They were so much better than the scoreline suggests. It was an incredible match to watch and both teams can be proud of their performances. Matera was immense in the match and deservedly won the Man of the Match award. I also think that the Pumas will be a hard team to beat at the World Cup.

It has been a pleasure to watch! Great skills by both sides. Matera's pass to Orlando was spectacular. Fantastic defense from both teams as well. Looking forward to the second half!

Digging the intensity of the match. Almost like watching a test match!

The bowlers aren't at their usual standard (or at least the standard we are a customed to), I agree but they still have been a damn sight better than our batsmen, who have been nothing short of pathetic.

The bowlers have been carrying us for some time now. The batting unit needs to make amends and actually start performing. It is shocking how poorly they have done as a unit. Quite a few who get in only to lose their wickets to a soft dismissal. The senior players have also not really stood up throughout the tournament and it seems as though our team has regressed ito match management rather than improve. The below puts it into perspective:

At a loss to even begin to describe the absolute idiocy of his shot selection when he got out. He was clearly playing a premeditated shot instead of playing the ball on it's merit and I think one could use his dismissal as an example of the indecisive and unconvincing nature of our batting the past season. We are going to take a severe beating when we go to India post this World Cup.

Yes everyone will play each other once with the top 4 teams going into the semi finals.

Pretty good prediction you made. A lot of talent in this particular squad but we have sent better to a World Cup and not won. Really hoping that they gel well and can manage to get themselves into the semifinals and hopefully our first final. However I still suspect that we'll fall out at the round robin phase as there is at least seven teams that are seriously capable of making it into the semifinals and into final from there.
