One of the best knocks I have seen in a long while. Also big kudos to Vishwa Fernando for hanging around and allowing Perera the freedom to bat as he did!

What an incredible win by Sri Lanka! Hats off to them. They gutsed it out and what a brilliant hundred from Kusal Perera to get them across the line especially when we still had well over 70 runs to defend. I said earlier that our batting was unimpressive and given the way Perera played I think it highlights that. We needed much greater application than what was shown in this match.

Perera seems determined to try and win this on his ace. 34 runs for SL to win 1 wicket for us to win Let's hope that we do.

Impressive stuff from Perera. Only guy to get a hundred in this match which puts into perspective how tricky this pitch actually is. Very gutsy performance from him.

Well enough to get us a lead. I am happy with the form of Steyn. Getting close to bowling at his best. As for the batting not to impressed at the moment but it does seem as though the pitch is starting to break up a fair bit. The Sri Lankans might struggle even more in the last innings.

SA Ladies scoring a seven wicket win in the end. Captain Dane Van Niekerk getting the player of the match award for her 71 not out and 3/12. Our ladies go 1 up in the three match T20 series.

Ladies on target with the chase with captain Van Niekerk leading the way!

Our ladies did well with the ball. Now they need to chase down 91 for the win.

Lions need 2 wickets in less than 10 overs. Either way this game goes I can say my team won (born in Joburg, raised in Cape Town).

Warriors 179/6 Lions need 4 more wickets. Going to be close!

https://www.sacricketmag.com/shootout-on-day-4-awaits-title-contenders/ Essentially the Cobras need to match what the Lions do today. Or at least that is my take away from the article.

Yes indeed. Fortunately for Wiaan he seems to have gotten form at the right time and I hope that he will be able to carry it into the MODC. It's exciting to see someone of his talent level pushing for a place across all formats and hopefully it'll also bring the best out of Andile as well. I am quietly excited about these two young all rounders and what they could possibly achieve. Both are fantastic talents.

Wiaan Mulder was injured but is back playing in the Supersport Series or whatever it's called now. Made a decent hundred (146) and took 2 wickets in the Lions win against the Knights. Might get another chance against Sri Lanka later in the season.

Not exactly new to professional cricket though, so a newb to international cricket. Averages 43 in both white ball and red ball cricket, domestically. His technique appears to very organised as well. Moves with ease and is light on his feet for a tall guy. But ja he certainly appears to have handled the transition quite well and can also play as Opening Batsman should the selection committee feel that Amla needs to bat first drop in England during the World Cup.
  17. Given that that was his circumstances he still produced good performance after good performance. One wonders what he would've achieved had he been given an extended run at fly half. I am sure we would've seen more performances like the CC final that's been referenced earlier. Again a class player who had to retire too soon.
  18. Just like I remembered it! Lambie was a helluva player.
  19. The 50odd meter one against the AB's mate in 2014. That one. Lambie was never know for long range efforts and that he pulled it off with such confidence was brilliant. My nerves were shot and I remember thinking "Come on Pat" and just roaring in delight as for a period it looked like the AB's was going to thieve another win off of us. Speaking of the 2010 CC final I also reckon that to be one of his performances ever. The two tries he created in the first half had us sunk and the match won in the first 30 minutes. As for that tackle by CJ, l honestly think there was no intent to harm and kinda agree that if it had been given yellow it would've been fair enough punishment. That it turned out differently is another discussion on it's own. What I do know is that CJ felt bad enough about it to go and apologise to Lambie in person which says a lot about how Lambie was viewed by his fellow players. The game is losing to many great players to soon who should have had long illustrious careers. Lambie joins Warburton in that regard I feel.
  20. This is such sad news. Didn't know him beyond his contribution to the Bikehub community. Condolences to his family and friends. Rus In Vrede Johann.
  21. Sad that he has decided to retire but one can understand why. Incredible player and was a joy to watch. And I'm sure we all remember THAT kick at Ellis Park.

A case of the Aussies being bad losers but also, I think, a sign of where they are ito their mental space. Can't compete without at least one or two genuine World Class players being present in their team even if one them happens to be right douchebag! That'll be Warner for clarification sake.

Proving in this match why he is so highly rated by so many in the game! Pure Class!!!

Happy with the 6 wicket win, happier with the first sign of resurgence from Amla. Spoilt for choice regarding the bowling unit. Personally I would prefer it if they kept it the same for the New Years test at Newlands but it sounds as though Vern will play. Maybe they might drop TdB for Vern. However not the route I'd go, I would in fact keep the team unchanged.

Match evenly poised. Just how important will Steyn and KG's effort with the bat prove to be? I guess it depends on how Pakistan bats in their second dig. Wouldn't want to chase anything more than 230. We will need to bowl well during the afternoon and try and have them 5/6 down by close of play.
