  1. Thanks, I will set a reminder.
  2. So my Shimano 600 Arabesque leavers have arrived from Pedal Pedlar in the UK and the brake levers on its way from JHB. Now all I need is everything else to make up the group Anyone hiding some 600 Arabesque parts let me know.
  3. I bought this "Gios Torino" recently but the colour looks a bit off. It does have the "Gios" markings on the BB though. The other problem is, and I don't have photos at the moment, the cable guides going into the top tube have been broken off leaving two nasty looking holes. Any opinions on the origin of the frame. Size wise it is between 53 and 54. I was in two minds about buying it but just could not resist. Maybe I will clean and close up the holes and keep it as an ornament.
  4. Very nice. There is one on sale here in Cape Town. Unfortunately the owner resprayed it however to a terrible looking red and black and it is a size 60 which is a bit big.
  5. Lucky fish, why don't I ever get given gems like these?
  6. New to the stable, Vintage Carbon Look KG 176.
  7. Agree with Ryan, I bought a nice Bianchi from someone who used it as transport. I gave him some cash and my Orbea so that he would not be without his transport. Normally I recon that bike would be worth between R1000 and R1500-00, but with the Campy parts it is probably worth more.
  8. The frame that is in terms of the original setup. The gearing has clearly been changed. What is the parts setup on the bike?
  9. That is a South African make bike built by Gotty Hansen. There are still quite a few of these Hansom's around. I own one in a brown colour. You are right that one looks pretty original.
  10. This Peugeot Classique hung in someones garage for 14 years collecting dust. Built with Japanese Tange 2 steel. The frame is pretty light. According to the "experts" Tange 2 is about the same weight as Columbus SL. The bike has a nice set of classic French CLB brake levers and calipers on.. I replaced the rusty wheels and here is the bike after a cleanup.
  11. Morph stop dreaming
  12. Share, where is it cheaper because it takes a long time to get any orders from CRC?
  13. My old Raleigh after a bit of a Facelift
  14. Now that is beautiful.
  15. I have an old Raleigh and the fork is also curved like this.
  16. Nice, lets see that whole bike please.
  17. Hi CAAD4 saw this method on the "interweb" It works really well. Check it out here http://www.robertscycle.com/chrome-clean.html After getting the rust off with the foil I use a metal polish to shine it up.
  18. Nice bike. There is one with 531 tubing on the web, also a track bike with a metal head badge with the same motif celebrating 50 years of Bauer bicycles dating this specific one to sometime in the 1960s. https://shop.cicli-berlinetta.de/product/weltmeister-bauer-531-track-frame-set/
  19. Spent my afternoon cleaning the Battaglin fork with some tin foil and polish. Looking much better but may need some more work
  20. Any of you steel framers heard of or seen an Alpina Tornado before?
  21. Stunning.
  22. For all of you who like me imagine all classic Bianchi's to come in Celeste, here is one I picked up today in ivory and this is what it looks like next to the Celeste coloured ones
  23. Remember what the helmets looked like in the nineties. This is a 1995 Xpress model.
  24. Thanks man, you are right it is the old Mondaile that I showed you. I replaced the Sora group with a complete set of first generation Campagnolo Athena. I also found a nice set of Ambrosio wheels with vintage Campagnolo Record hubs.
  25. Man, don't you just love the look of vintage handlebars. Look at these 3 ttt Mod Competizione bars on a Philippe stem.
