  1. My flight is booked for Friday morning at 10:00. Will be out of country for 2 weeks so my provisional status is now officially revoked Man was sooo hoping to join up for the ride, lots of personal frustration in my life that I want to trash out on the bicycle. Have fun all, hopefully there will be another Hub ride soon that I can join. Ciao,
  2. Did you get your frame? Please share if you did ...
  3. I WANT one !
  4. I do not want to know what you feel like ... the anticipation is killing me I cannot imagine what it must be like being in your shoes. I have a frame that I might be sending off soon. Can't wait to see your results.
  5. Jeez ... that is why I said well done. Absolutely no ulterior motives to my post.
  6. Nice, Nice to see some companies taking customer needs seriously. Well done CWCVTSKING2009-05-21 03:08:09
  7. For what it is worth (as a newbie) holly roller dirtbreath and drum-roll please .... TNT1
  8. I had a blast! Did the 35km (still some serious training to do before I consider the 80km. Something I am working on). My fastest race since I've started cycling so I am chuffed (finished in 02:04). Didn't see any game ... was looking at all the water bottles all over the place, and trying to pick lines in the soft sand and twisties at the end of the downhill sections. That still boggles me, a water bottle here and there I can understand, but man I must have passed at least 12 bottles along the way. Made a weekend of it and stayed at Mbizi in a chalet. It was an awesome weekend. As always I did not spot fellow hubbers - I had my wristband and beanie on(cheers Wolverine), hoping someone would say hi. In my opinion wearing hub-kit is an invitation to introduce yourself ... so do not be shy boys and girls.
  9. Ok made the Lion man - I had a blast! Still on "short-finals"/standby for Brazil. Provisional status still stands ... but I'll be there if I am in country around then.
  10. ? Johan can see this with the naked eye thats why I dont doubt his judgement Some say ... the very ribs of his forefathers were used as spokes for todays top-end wheels ... we simply call him JB!!
  11. I had EXACTLY the same rant in the office this morning! I will be sending my signed documents to cyclesure later today.
  12. More or less ... can pick them up at CRC for about R4500 for front and back.
  13. My "provisional" status still stands ... might be in Rio for work over that time. Will have to wait and see (might even miss out on the Lion man too ) . I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed and keep you guys posted. Ciao,
  14. Just a major thanks from my side to ALL who responded so far! I have been checking out the all the advice and links etc. (My work has suffered severely because of this post ...)
  15. http://www.shimano.com.au/publish/content/global_cycle/en/au/index/products/mountain/deore_xt.html Have a look over there, You can also do comparisons between different models (side-by-side) Hope this helps.
  16. Tell me about it ... like a kid in a candy store. Thanks for the link.
  17. BOS1000 now that is something I might seriously consider! Did not even cross my mind. Had XT burnt into my head and never considered anything else (you have just removed the "blinkers" from my eyes). Cheers!
  18. Cheers for everyones input, I really appreciate it.I find everyone's suggestions invaluable ... that's why I love The Hub. OK a quick recap on my thoughts after reading the suggestions. Drop the FD from the shopping list. Still in two minds regarding the crank-set. But grinding out some more tracks on the current set is probably the right thing to do. On the other hand the XT crank-set looks so much better than the Octolink I have on there now. Hopefully common sense will prevail over vanity ... let's see how that goes. Serendipity, the brakes on the bike at the moment are Avid Juicy 3's, and so-far they seem ok to me.
  19. Nay 0 Yay 1 Cheers for the response ( I have to be honest I am itching to upgrade, but I want to weigh it up against the thoughts of the guys that have been playing this "game" far longer than I have)
  20. Right, so I am new to cycling. Unfortunately I am LOVING it ... which now has me considering some upgrades for my current set-up. My question is, should I upgrade or rather drop the "upgrade-funds" into a savings account and purchase a complete bike in a year or two? Beginning December 2008 I got myself a Schwinn Mesa Ltd. ('08 model). To date I have replaced the following: Suntour XCM front shock with a Rockshox Recon Race, Alex rims with Mavic 317 Discs, Cane Creek grips. Now I am looking at upgrading the Deore components with XT's. More specifically the following, XT crankset, XT derailleurs (front and rear), XT cassette. Savings account or CRC? Your thoughts would be much appreciated.
  21. "Chicks dick scars so dont worry about it" hmmm not the chicks I know ... the chicks I know like/dig it but .... enough said. Have a great week all
  22. Yup pen me in provisionally
  23. Bought from mackiemoo Painless, REALLY quick, contents well packaged and delivered in same condition as per add.
  24. Thank you so much for this post. I have been trying to hunt down data of this extent but with no luck for almost a week. Still on the frigging "sticks", but have booked my sessions with Allen Carr's in April. So hold thumbs. BTW the Allen Carr's is only R295 if you are a Vitality member, instead of R1525. I hope this will be the LAST time I go through this exercise (quit twice before). Once again thanks a mil for the info ... now I have even more motivation.
  25. Awesome work Ronelle! I love the pics. Man it sucks sitting in the office!!!
