  1. Don't sell.......or sell to me! Lovely bike, one of my bucket list machines, and an Aprillia 250. I looked to import an RD from the UK, but the additional costs on the purchase price did not seem worth it.
  2. The little KLR enjoyed a jol on the road to Van Wyksdorp today...........and a further plenty kms!
  3. All routes at Harkerville are open, have ridden there over the past few weeks.
  4. Ha ha, this made me laff......over to the Bose Mini with music from the phone......of course it must be charged. Elba 5 plate gas stove takes care of the cooking and coffee. Bugger, even make coffee on the braai of required. At a last resort.......or if Moto GP is on, the gennie is powered up! Makes me realise that I need to install a solar pannel, inverter/battery system. Question of Randellas!
  5. Harkerville Red route. Best part of a year off the bike and two rides in with the missus, hit the challenge of the red route.........awesome it was!
  6. Oh man wish I could, I arrive in Josie from Dubai tomorrow, so unable.
  7. You guys will tire of them, but yet another shot of my KLR, this on Prince Alfred Pass!!
  8. I am a big fan of the humble KLR. Perhaps because the Garden Route is saturated with big GS’s. The little KLR is great on the back roads, mine lives with knobblies on. Yeah, perhaps it barely pulls the skin off a rice pudding, but it is fun for me. As I mentioned in previous posts, scratches and dings from off roading don’t stress me out. An XR650 or XT660 would be nice in the garage, something for my son to ride when he visits. I sold my XR500re some time back..............lack of electric foot was painful on a hot day on the side of a hill!
  9. Hilarious! Man, I dont even take my 1995 FZR1000 out on any dirt.........perhaps the incorrect tyres!
  10. This is a machine of great beauty to my eye! However, as useful as a chocolate tea pot to me............for the dirt roads in my area!!! Edit..(Change the exhaust though)
  11. Sunset, Santa Monica Pier. Bit more than a week ago.
  12. I would really like a go on an XR, ( and not the old Honda 500 I had! ) everything about it seems to be comfort, performance and easy to ride fast!
  13. Sorry, finger trouble, too much wine in the hotel lounge. But I love my KLR, huge value for money. This I recommend whole heartedly. Pic is in Die Hell, this thing does it for me, I like valule for my Randellas. If I need to go fast I ride my road bikes. As previously posted, my KLR runs upgraded suspension, Leo Vinci Pipe and DNA filters (lots of) amongst other mods. If I drop it, so what, cheap.......love it!
  14. I rode one of these around Kyalami a few years ago at the second of the Bike Festivals. I had a blast, was the Friday and quiet on the track, just the instructor and I. We lined up to go and he says, “ right, lets see how fast this thing is” ! We visored down and off, me with my adventure helmet and peak. The thing was lovely, I benefited from following the instruction fellow on his Ducati 996. Some of my favourite laps on the new Kyalami circuit! Over 220 indicated if I remember correctly!
  15. My missus likes the vibes of my 83 CB750 around 100kph...............something about a tingle

I see Berg Adders often in the gommos behind George, just leave them alone, I like Nyoka’s. I have seen many Puffies and Cape Cobra’s on my motorcycle travels too.
  17. Lovely bike! If you find yourself in the Hoekwil area I can share great routes for such a machine. I have a KLR and frequently do long day rides trying for at least 75% dirt during the 6 plus hrs. You have beautiful places to ride too!Enjoy your DR.
  18. Heal up quick, glad it is not worse.
  19. Ouch, man, if I bin my dear old KLR, that 30 plus labour would buy me a new (to me) one! Hope you are okay.
  20. Am awaiting the T700 before I part with my hard earned Randellas on a current Africa Twin. I would like to ride one for comparison.
  21. Here you go. Fire it Ups FB page. I have a 650 single, love it. I dont ride fast on the tar as my KLR wears knobblies. Many dirt roads to explore in my area. I like the big single, it is simple and the bike is a tractor. I don’t get fussy over scratches and stone chips!
  22. Near De Vlugt, Prince Alfred Pass area.
  23. Klein Karoo biking, the old Yam on a road where she can blow the dust off!
  24. Have you ridden an MT09? I had a go on one at Kyalami, the Bike Festival 2 years ago, stunning, I think one of the best engines around. Guys have mentioned “tools for the job “ and “x factor”, for me it would be Yammie MT09 and Outeniqua or Robinsons Pass!
