  1. I've been pestering their official email (JIMCCustomerServices@postoffice.co.za) every day since last week.

I tried an email to them today so hopefully I will get some feedback.

I also mailed Debbie and the response just said that there has been no scan on said item but I must keep trying

  2. The OP said it wasn't courier, so it won't be expedited.

It most likely will, you'll just have to wait it out. Until it actually reaches customs after the processing facility, it won't be picked up on the local system. As you can see many of us have been waiting 6+ weeks, so you're in for the same.

So do you think it still hasnt been scanned after nearly a month?

  3. I am in the same boat here! I ordered an item off Ebay in May and if I check the USPS website, it says that the item left Miami on the 19th of May. It has yet to be scanned in at JIMC and no one can tell me where it is. Anyone have any advise?

I have contacted USPS and they say it has left the country.

I have contacted SAPO for a local tracking number but they say it has not been scanned yet

I have been to my local PO and there is nothing there for me

I am starting to think it may not arrive?

  4. I had 2 MT8 levers replaced under warranty for clients on the Epic. It's not an uncommon thing with their new designs apparently.

The agent seems to know what he's on about, I'd sooner point fingers at a poor design in this case...

I couldn't agree more. The design seems to be flawed, especially when it comes to the master cylinder as it seems to be right against the bar when clamped. If it is overtightened or bashed it seems to leak. This was the case with mine.

I had a set of Louise BAT's for 3 years and never had to bleed them or fiddle with them at all... I presumed it would have been the same with the new models

  5. After pulling my trusty steed out of the garage this week after having almost 2 weeks off from Sani2c, I found that it had acquired a bit more dust and dirt than usual. I assume that this is due to me being lazy and not washing my bike after the ride, so all the dirt from the beach, drive home and general dust has coagulated around my chain. My chain, chainring and cassette were terribly dirty and they had a thick gunky trim along the entirety of the drivetrain.I decided to use a new product that I was told about by a friend - Cleanextreme foam chain degreaser. All I had to do was hose the bike down, spray the degreaser over the chain while turning the cranks and then leave it for a few minutes. The foam sticks to the chain doing it's magic and does not drip into any bearings or go anywhere it shouldn't.After a few minutes I hosed it off and the drivetrain looked brand new.I highly recommend this product because it works so well!I bought mine off www.kitted.co.za but I am not sure if they still have stock.

  6. Look to see if the inside of the axle can take an Allen key.

If not we usually put it in a vice with a special clamp, you could also use a vice grip (not best though) and grab it, use a piece of rubber or something to try and limit scuffing.

I have looked to see if the axle can take an Allen key but it is round, so that's not it.

I tried with a small clamp but I am scared I mess up the threads of the axel. I will give a vice grip a try at some stage today and see if that holds it.

When I do get the nut off, how do I remove the bearings?

Thanks for all the help thus far

  7. I have realised that since Sani, my rear hub bearings are grinding and have pretty much seized. I have decided to fix this myself since I pretty much do everything else on the bike without hassle but the hubs have me stumped.

Firstly, I have never done a hub bearing so I am not too sure how to go about it.

Secondly, It is a Sram X9 rear hub and there is no info on it online besides an exploded view on the Sram website.

I haven't been able to find any videos on YouTube, not have I found a tutorial on the interwebs.

I have disassembled the hub to a point but cannot get any further.

I cannot seem to remove the black nut pictured below.

Can anyone give me some pointers, or better yet, a tutorial on how to remove X9 hub bearings.

    Thanks!post-5240-0-90830000-1401303128_thumb.jpg
