  5. Okay guys I am going to move it on a bit. I am going to ask Big H to comment on a study I read yesterday in the newspaper that that said gay riders actually predominantly ride Shimano, why is that? I am not sure how they determined the the statistics because I am not that way and I ride Shimano, I am just saying what I read. Take it away big one! Fourfeet, which way are you Shimano or Campag?
  6. This one has got the potential to be great for business!!! Would you mind if I put up a pop corn and coke stand on your thread? Come now everyone! Buy one pop corn and get a free coke! 7. Everyone that rides with me regularly will know that i have been telling them to use Whasp gels since waaay back I also signed up for the protein deal at the 94.7 expo, however I did not use any gels during my 94.7 race. I will try it out during my next race or hard training ride and give some feedback.
  8. After my stint in the US not too long ago I had to re adjust to getting used to eehh..uhh..eish!! It is not wekking...uhh eehh eish!.. uuheeh eish!! After a week back i started getting suicidal from all the uuhh..eehh..uhh..how?..ueeh..eahh eish! moments I suddenly had to endure again. On the same topic I met a South African that side that recently transferred there and he said he got his license transferred/did the test everything in an hour... no eehh eish!! WTF uuhha ehh not wekking crap!!?? none of that ****!!!
  9. The best way to get an appointment is to go through one of these dodgy dudes that offer driving lessons. You pay them a fee then they bribe the department with part of that fee and then miraculously you get an appointment asap. Freaking crazy!!!
  10. Not only in SA!!! Source: http://www.treehugger.com/files/2008/11/toronto-cycle-car-confict.php http://www.treehugger.com/toronto-road-rage.jpg There, but for the grace of God, go I- John Bradford As more people ride bikes, there are more "interactions" between cyclists and motorists. We previously covered Leah's fight over a beef pattie in Kensington Market, and more recently No Impact Man's impact with a senator; they both walked away. However last night in Toronto, a cyclist had a loud argument with a cab driver and the next thing residents heard was a sickening crunch and a man screaming for help- the cabbie rammed the cyclist against a pole and severed his leg. Doctors couldn't fix it and the leg was amputated. http://www.treehugger.com/taxi-road-rage.jpg The cabbie took off and then three hours later called police and said he was defending himself against a robbery attempt. From a guy on a bike? Using the rear end of your car in reverse to defend yourself? And whenever people talk about how bicyclists contribute to their own demise, look at the difference, a couple of dents vs a leg. A cyclist may be wrong to get angry (neighbours say there was arguing) but that doesn't mean he should get dead. http://www.treehugger.com/city-news.jpg click on image to to go to CITY TY News I have cycled on that stretch of Dovercourt Road in Toronto many times. It is a narrow street with two way traffic and parking permitted on the west side. Unlike almost every other intersection in Toronto there is no stop sign at Argyle. I am often nervous negotiating it between Dundas and Queen because of these concerns. As Constable Burrows put it: "We're trying to determine the sequence of events and how this escalated from the sound of voices to what we have right now, a male in hospital with fairly significant injuries fighting for his life." http://www.treehugger.com/cycle-argyle.jpg The Globe and Mail quotes a student at the lovely cafe on the corner. Many local residents quickly categorized the incident as a violent manifestation of the animosity between car drivers and bicycle riders in Canada's largest city. "This speaks to how badly cyclists get treated," said John Rodgers, a 24-year-old University of Toronto student who came to the Luna Cafe yesterday, and was stunned to hear what had taken place just hours before. "It's an extreme case, but it shows you the tensions." How about doing something to reduce those tensions. How about putting black box recorders in taxis, decent north/south bike lanes, one way streets where they are not wide enough to accommodate such traffic, and building a bike-friendly city. And maybe some anger management courses at Beck Taxi. More at CBC, City TV, epoh2008-11-18 05:02:57

  15. I haven't read the whole thread so I could be repeating someone else's viewpoint. Myself like many others are not so clued up on cycling stuff so we would like to see people comment on price etc. of cycling stuff that people are selling here. If you put something up for sale on The Hub you are going to get feedback in some way or another as it is a public forum. If you do not want feedback go advertise in the Junk Mail. Of course I support people replying and commenting in a constructive way and not to take down the poster.
  16. Do you know what the root cause is to your condition? How old are you?
  17. Samma, my most favorite music video of all time :-) I been listening to quite a bit of Carolina Liar, kief tunes with lekker riffs. Someone needs to code us a "now playing" plugin for Winamp/Aamarok that interfaces with our Avatar info box. Maybe there is some plugin already for this board, come on Admin!
