  1. and another R100 from me, now we just need one more Chris, how do we get the money to you??
  2. Hey Admin, I think its about time you put up a poll or you go ahead and make a decision, otherwise this is just going to keep going in circles. And before you know it, next year someone is gonna start a new thread called "hey, what about Hub cycling gear" and all of this IM"most"HO
  3. The R4S had a pretty good goody bag. BUT - my Fisherman friends mints that were in there expired in Oct last year. Not that I think it really matters but you would think the supplier would be a bit more careful than that when donating the stuff. I ate them yesterday and am still here this morning to tell the tale, pretty sure I will survive.
  4. As long as you wear a helmet as well - the hub is happy if you are happy
  5. and all the dude who put up this post wanted was a wheel bag
  6. After watching a whole bunch of guys and their different drinking practices on the bike got me wondering. I see a bunch of guys take their bottle out and hold it out to the side before they drink, and then do the same before they put their bottle back in. I even heard a guy announce "Drinking" yesterday at the R4S. My opinion, just take your bottle out when it is safe and drink. Or is their an etiquette when it comes to drinking. I personally think the guys announcing they are about to drink are a bunch of ponces. I would probably guess you have less control worrying about warning people than just shutting up and getting on with it. I must say I have never seen any pro's on TV or anywhere else announcing. What do you think.
  7. They can clear him all they like, its not gonna fly with WADA or the UCI
  8. 96 for me today. Was 95 on Sat morning, but I think one too many boerie rolls after the R4S yesterday.

    HRM

A guy at work got these and they are great. He bought one for himself and wife. They have HR zones and a calorie consumption calculator based on weight and age. For the money, I would recommend them
  10. I think I just found my next bike. That R10 (not the ten rand note) with the green on the forks and rear chain stays is awesome. I am starting my saving today for that.
  11. its 12h00 - wheres the name?
  12. lemme fix that for you
  13. Like this?
  14. My first bike was a 1983 Raleigh Burner, pretty similar to this one. It had back brakes when I got it which I had changed to normal brakes at Alan van Heerden Cycles in Corlett Drive. The bike was R149.00 brand new back then. I think I was the happiest kid on the block when I got it.
  15. Buy a "Le Peeck n Pay" heavy french special and ride it hard. Get the heaviest bloody bike you can and train your ass off. When you get back here you will a) appreciate your SA bike B) be stronger and fitter and kick all your mates butts Just my 5c worth
  16. well then Contador must also be a "bloody agent" - thats pretty cool cos he's on the hub
  17. So without me having to read all 32 pages of this thread, if he fails in his appeal, does the 1 year stand or will it be extended to a full 2 years?
  18. dude that is funny, must have been damn sore but still funny to watch
  19. PM sent
  20. FNB for the overdraft?
  21. Hey Chris, congrats on the success of your online store. I haven't had the opportunity to use you guys yet, but I can assure you that you will be getting my business soon. My LBS is sadly becoming a little ridiculous. Keep up the great service that we all read so much of here on the Hub cheers
  22. I think it is something to do with flared nostrils making you look intimidating - just ask the guys in Pamploma at the bull run - when you see one of those bulls baring down at you at full tilt with its flared nostrils, its gotta be pretty intimidating. and if thats not the reason, then i am seconding WP's suggestion that it is a ploy by Power Balance
  23. Its kind of the same as walking into the shops in Meadowdale and Boksburg (you know the ones) and looking at the prices on everything. Everything is immediately negotiable. I never go there anymore cos it aggravates me how they try make you feel you are gonna get a special price, cos "don worry bru, for you I'm gonna give you less 10%" Why the hell cant shops just put their best price on the things upfront. If people then ask for discount they can just say no as the prices are the best possible. I, for one, appreciate the guys who are honest from the get-go. They are ones who get my business.
