  1. Hey hubbers, any suggestions for routes out of Rondebosch area or central CPT on a TT bike. Looking for around 80km that I can ride majority of it in aero, hopefully quieter and safe roads TIA
  2. Was wondering about local cycling clothing manufacturers and the quality of the goods they produce vs the international brands. Importing clothing is stupidly expensive with the insane duties, and I would really like to support local if possible. What are the really great items that you have come across that are proudly SA? Sure I know the regular stuff but perhaps there are some small niche players out there.
  3. What frame set did you import. Been looking at bringing one in but just super sceptical of what I see Would be great to have some idea of something decent
  4. http://www.pinkbike.com/news/The-North-Face-Presents-Exploring-the-Bendor-Range-video-2013.html some pretty insane drops
  5. There changed - now how about that advice?
  6. Just before Saturdays ride, I found my rear wheel was a little soft so gave it a quick pump. No sound of leaking so off I went. (by the way it is a MTB tubeless with Racing Ralph) About 2 kms down the road and the rear is getting soft. I have a look and the sealant is coming out of a hole about 4mm long. I clean out the hole and spin the wheel hoping to stop the leak. Seem to work so give it a blast of a bomb and off I go again. Another km or 2 and the wheel is getting soft again. Thats the history - heres the prob. the hole in the tyre seems to seal and hold once it is down to around 0.8bar but the minute I pump above that, it leaks. What are my options The tyre is only around 300km old so i dont really want to chuck it. would a plug work in a hole that size? what about putting a patch on the inside of the tyre? more sealant? advice (and new free tyres) appreciated
  7. Is the entry that is offered to a team from the previous year open to that exact team again, or are the individuals give the option of the entry. Basically, if the team decides that they are not going to ride together the following year, are they still guaranteed the entry?
  8. Just stay away from White Lightning - if one tiny little bit of water comes near your chain, it will squeak like old Aunty Winifreds 70 year old wheel chair
  9. Agreed - but then we are going to have another thread called "Another cyclist killed" and we are all gonna feel bad and send messages of condolence and flame the damn driver for hitting the cyclist - except in these cases it is entirely the fault of the cyclist. Personally I would rather tell the guy on the bike to use a light and suck up the abuse because maybe, just maybe the guy will think about it and then still be alive tomorrow to wave or not wave at me in the morning depending on whether he is a roadie or a MTB'er (and thats me running for the hills)
  10. Does your friend need any new friends?????
  11. I dont have the opportunity to get out in the mornings besides on weekends as my wife leaves really early and I need to get the kids to school. I try get 3-4 double spinning classes in a week and then 2 decent rides in on the weekend. Spinning is all about attitude. If you go there with a goal in mind and push yourself, it can be really beneficial. There are also good instructors and those that are pretty cr@ppy. In cases where I have bad instructors, I ignore what they are instructing and do my own thing. The good instructors are good for motivation and you can benefit a lot. You get out of it what you put in, if you are going to sit at the back and chat to your mates rather than puch yourself then the only person that you are cheating is yourself
  12. did you seriously need to make it the same weekend as my 10th wedding anniversary I have more chance of giving birth to razor wire than trying to get this past my wife - will have to see yo all next year
  13. No argus for me this year, going with a bunch of mates up the chain ladders to Mont Aux Source in the berg for the weekend. Nothing like rum and raspberry juice on top of a mountain. to all the peeps doing the argus - give it horns
  14. Lets see what the scale says next Monday. I am going hiking in the berg on the weekend so should burn quite a few extra cals as well.
