  1. Herewith the final update. So Assos got back to me, gave me a voucher to buy a replacement pair of bibs on their international website including shipping, just did that and fingers crossed will have a new pair of bibs by the weekend. Their feedback is that the reason for the wear is the saddle and they suggest I change saddles, I will investigate and look at that option. ( for interest I had my saddle measured and set up for me by Specialized, also don`t have a saddle bag ?). My only and original question still is all my other bibs are ok, why just this particular one? Anyway lessons learnt. I really cannot fault Assos Switzerland for their after sale service and will definitely give them a big thumbs up. I wish more companies had this type of after sale support.👍😀
  2. Here is a quick update: Sent a mail to Assos direct explaining the situation, not actually expecting anything. Within 1 hour got a response from a service consultant asking for invoice, pic of saddle etc, sent mail with all the info. Will give a update on the outcome, cannot fault them for speed of reply, more than I got from the agents in SA. 😀
  3. Thanks for the feedback, however why only the Assos and not my other bib shorts? Also I am 1,79m and 70kg.
  4. Thanks for the replies, just confirmed what I was thinking. Will also try to contact the mother ship in Switzerland.
  5. So on January 4 2024 I bought a ASSOS Mille GT C2 bib short from Cycle lab as they had a very good special. The shorts are great, very comfortable and I would have considered buying more except: after using them for about 3 months or 26 rides ( I rotate bib shorts) I noticed the material between the pad and seat is basically worn through. I took the shorts back to Cycle Lab who sent it to J&J Cycling for a warranty claim. I learnt that there will be no warranty claim because of the saddle I use, please read the next bit: Here is the thing and also my reference point, about 7 or 8 year ago I bought 3 bib shorts at the 94.7 expo then held at the Dome, 1 x Ciovita Corsa bibs and 2 x Vermarc PRR bibs. For context I have been using the same saddle, a Specialized Power saddle for all this time. I retired the Ciovita bibs because they stretched, no holes. I still use the Vermarc bibs but they are starting to show signs of wear but still 100% usable. My question, should a warranty claim be justified in this instance?

  14. Hi, I am using Rapide stem, mtb bars, chainring, brake rotors, BB, and seatpost. Really cannot fault any of their products. To be honest for the price you pay it is a bargain. Bonus is the excellent service from Wayne????
  15. Hi Jan, In my experience what works is cleaning the rim bed properly. I wash the rim, take all dirt/sticky residue from old rim tape off. Then using brake cleaner spray on the rim, and wipe with a clean cloth. Don't touch the rim bed again. When applying tape stretch onto the rim. Hope this helps
